Who We Are

The Aberdeen Area Humane Society serves the Northern South Dakota and Southern North Dakota Area. We are here in the interests of Animal Welfare. We place homeless animals into good homes like yours as well as rescue animals from abusive situations. We have a shelter facility just S.W. of Aberdeen and house many animals while we try to find them good homes.

We are a non-profit organization and are funded by memberships, donations, fundraisers and adoptions. For the most current information, please contact the shelter directly at 605-226-1200, Mon-Sat from 11:30-5:30 CT.

Adopting a friend

Steps:
1. Come spend some time with our dogs and cats and see which one is for you.
2. Once you have made a decision, fill out our short adoption application form.
3. Pending a 24-hour approval, your new pet will be spayed or neutered and is ready to go.

Adoption fees include spay or neuter, vaccinations excluding Rabies, and a vet and fecal examination and are: Dogs 7 years and under $80.00+tax, $65 +tax if over age 8 Cats $50.00+tax or $75 +tax if declawed upon arrival
