Our Featured Pet...

One Eyed Jack

One Eyed Jack is an amazing cat. He is a Siamese and about 1.5 yrs old. He came to us as a stray. His former owners had removed his left eye but we noticed that his right eye was "weeping" so we took him to the eye specialist. Turns out, he was born with only half of his eye lid and his eye lashes were bothering his eye! We then did a surgery to freeze the lash follicles so that they would not grow back in and irritate that eye. He is doing great and has no trouble with his vision. One Eyed Jack is also a real lover. He follows you around the house, wants to be pet and wants to be held. He also plays well with other cats and is good with his foster mom's dogs. If you are interested in One Eyed Jack, you can contact us at lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com or come to one of our adoptathons to meet the dogs (not the cats) (information below).

Who We Are

LowCountry Animal Rescue was formed in 2002. We have a special love for Dalmatians, Shelties and Chihuahuas, but we also help other breeds as well as mutts and cats. We do our best to educate the public about pet overpopulation and responsible ownership.

Adopting a friend

All of our dogs are tested for heartworms and treated if positive, spayed/neutered, current on all shots, given fecals and wormed if needed and microchipped. All of our cats are tested for FELV/FIV, spayed/neutered, current on all shots, given fecals and wormed if needed and microchipped.

Come Visit Us!

As our organization is run out of foster homes we show our animals by appointment only. We hold adoptions at our local Pet stores on Saturdays and rotate the stores. We also do adoptions at special events. We also have cats available for adoption at Petco stores in Mt. Pleasant and Rivers Ave in North Charleston.
