Hi! My name is Rocky. I am about 1 year old and I weigh around 45 pounds. I am spayed, current on vaccines and microchipped. I am also blind. My rescue had to remove both of my eyes due to glaucoma. By the time I came to them, the pressure was so bad in both of my eyes that they had no other choice. That does not mean I can't get around just fine though! I am good with other dogs, I love to go outside and to sleep on the sofa. I may also have a skin condition that requires meds that cost about $60 a month. I know I am special needs and I am looking for a special home to call my own.

Palmetto Paws Animal Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit rescue. We are a small network of volunteers who have pooled our time, energy and resources to give our animals a second chance at a better life! Want to help? We host adoption events on Saturdays from 11AM-4PM at the Petco in Mt Pleasant on Highway 17, in the Walmart shopping center, just south of the I526/Highway 17 intersection. We do not have a physical shelter so you must come to the adoption event to meet and adopt our animals. Can't make it to an event? Email us! We will try to arrange a meeting outside of the event if possible pending an approved application.
Adopting A Friend...
Just a few *rules* but we try to keep it as simple as possible... All of our animals will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption. We will ask for landlord and vet references to make sure your new pet is welcome as well as taken care of. If you cannot provide a vet reference, a home visit may be required. If you currently have a resident pet, we ask that the new pet meets your current pet before we finalize your adoption. We welcome out of state adopters but please keep in mind that you would need to come to Charleston, SC to meet and adopt our pets. We do not ship/transport our animals. Puppies and dogs are adopted to approved individuals on a *first come, first adopted* basis. Due to limited foster space, we are unable to hold an animal to be picked up at a later date. Please be prepared to meet, adopt and take home your companion the same day. Adoption fees vary by animal and are listed in each individual posting.
