NEWS AND SPECIAL EVENTS!
ADOPTION DAY

Next adoption day Saturday, June 7th.

Spaying and neutering helps dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives. It also eliminates or reduces the incidences of a number of health problems that can be very difficult or expensive to treat!
If you can open your heart and home to an animal that needs you, please call: 843-207-PAWS! We need you - the animals need you!
Berkeley County PAWS is an organization comprised of dedicated volunteers who promote spay and neuter through SNIP(Spay/Neuter Incentive Program) a community spay/neuter assistance program; provide foster care and adoption for homeless animals and provide resources and events to educate the public about responsible pet ownership.
We are a 501 c 3 (charitable non-profit) animal welfare organization. Donations are tax-deductible and allow us to provide for the needs of our rescued animals and support our spay/neuter program.

Please note that we have the right to refuse adoption of any of our animals for any reason we feel appropiate!
There is no public shelter to visit. Instead, our companion animals are lovingly cared for in one of our approved foster homes where they can more readily adjust to a family/home environment. To see an animal you are interested in, contact the foster home to make an appointment. Foster names and contact numbers are listed in the pet's information on the Pet List page. Cats that are at PETsMART may be seen during store hours. Cats are adopted as INDOOR ONLY pets. PETsMART is located in Azalea Square on N. Main St. in Summerville between Target and Kohl's. "Adoption Days" at PETsMART which include dogs as well as cats are listed under NEWS AND SPECIAL EVENTS when scheduled.
All PAWS pets have been examined by a veterinarian, de-wormed, vaccinated and altered. Dogs are tested for heartworm and treated if positive. Most of our dogs and cats are also Microchipped. Cats are also tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV
An adoption application is required and upon approval a contract must be signed. This is our Application to Adopt a Cat. CAT APPLICATION This is our Application to Adopt a Dog. DOG APPLICATION Please download the appropriate application, print it and fill it out. Then contact the foster home named on the animal's page in our Pet List below. You may review the terms of our contract here

DOG OF THE MONTH!

Bo
Adoption Fee: $125.00
My name is Bo. I am a 9 month old neutered male black lab mix. I need to find a loving forever home. My first family could no longer keep me. I have not been formally housebroken, but I learn very fast. I love to walk on the leash and I love to play with kids. I would like to have a place to run a little. I have had all my shots and I am very healthy. I even have a microchip that needs a permanent address. Please come to see me and take me home with you.
Bo is a small Black Lab mix who is very energetic , playful and smart. He's very willing to learn things. He weighs around 50 lbs. It is suggested that he is taken to dog obedience classes. He bores easily and will resort to digging if he has nothing else to do. He's a dog that needs a job to keep him busy! Also suggested that he get crate trained.

We couldn't do it without YOU!
The altering of a companion animal is every pet owner's responsibility to their pet and the community. There is no excuse for not having it done. The procedure is safe and simple and your pet will fully recover in 7 to 10 days. It can be done as early as 3 months of age and will improve your pet's health and behavior. It is the humane way to control the pet population. The tri-county area has two low cost Spay/Neuter Clinics that are available to everyone, the John Ancrum SPCA Spay and Neuter Clinic at the SuperPetz in West Ashley, and the Doc Williams SPCA Spay and Neuter Clinic in Goose Creek.Volunteers are the backbone of this organization. Do you have Scout troop or a group at work or school looking for a community service project? We would welcome your fundraising ideas. We also need people to help solicit donations of goods and services that can be included in fundraising drawings. Your fresh ideas are needed and welcome.
Call (843) 207-PAWS and leave a message or send us an e-mail at berkeleycopaws@yahoo.com.
