SEHBR was formed because we saw a need for the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of herding breeds. We are located in Columbia SC. We specialize in Shelties and Collies, but we accept many other breeds into our program, including, but not limited to Corgis, and English Shepherds. We accept dogs of all ages, and conditions not just young active ones. We understand that because these dogs are herding/working breed dogs they like to have "jobs". Because of this we train our rescued dogs in agility, carting, and obedience if they seem like good candidates. Many of our adopted dogs are now therapy and agility dogs. Dogs who are not candidates as performance dogs are adopted out to wonderful homes that suit that particular dogs needs. We are not a shelter. All of our dogs live indoors in a private family home where they receive love, training, and excellent care. We do not have a shelter or outdoor kennels. We are strictly no-kill. Our dogs are adopted by families in the Southeast and occasionally from longer distances. Go to the links above to learn more. If you decide the dog is not right for you and your home, you are welcome to bring him back unharmed within 30 days of the adoption for a full refund of the adoption fee.
