BEULAH GERMAN SHEPHERD FEMALE!
This is beautiful Beulah who is a rescue from Haiti. She was born in Spartanburg SC and went to Haiti to protect children in an orphanage for the first year and a half of her life. The employees of the orphanage mistreated her because they were afraid of her. They don't have big dogs in Haiti. They chained her on the roof of their building and threw food up to her. The Director of the orphanage called us and we were glad to take her in, although I was surprised they would let the dog be flown out of the country. Anyway she was flown up to us in Spartanburg SC and when we took her in she weighed only 30 pounds but the vet said despite the heat and lack of nutrition she was going to be fine. At last count Beulah's weight was up to 58 lbs! But recently she was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis and mega esophagus which is a rare disease and has no cure. It affects the back legs where they lose muscle control and they have trouble eating because of the large esophagus but it is manageable for many dogs and we hope with proper care and medication that she will be able to live a full life and just have fun being a dog! She deserves it after what she has been through. Beulah is in the Upstate Veterinary Care Facility. They are taking great care of her but we expect the bill to be in excess of $2500.00 so we are pleading for donations. We are thankful for anything - even a few dollars! Enoree River Rescue has never asked for donations from the public for a sick animal before and we appreciate so much anything that is donated to help this beautiful animal. Enoree River Rescue, Inc. was started by an individual who has loved animals since she was a small child. She rode her first horse at age 4 and constantly brought home "lost" kittens and puppies. Her Dad would let her keep them for a little while and then they would mysteriously disappear. Of course he was rehoming them and not telling her! She continued rescuing all sorts of animals in her adult life and then joined a rescue group in 2004. She ran the adoption center at Petsmart for two years and then decided to start her own non profit group. Enoree River Rescue is interested in saving animals from high kill shelters when they are doomed to euthanization. As we are a small group and also a brand new group we can only take a few animals at a time. Our motto "Saving lives - One animal at a time"Adopting a friend
WE REQUIRE AN APPLICATION AND A HOME VISIT AND ALSO A VET REFERENCE FOR ADOPTION. ADOPTION FEE IS $65.00 FOR CATS AND KITTENS AND $85.00 FOR DOGS AND PUPPIES. THIS INCLUDES ALL SHOTS, SPAY/NEUTER, TESTS , HEARTWORM NEGATIVE, FLEA PREVENTION AND ANTI FUNGAL BATH. THE ADOPTION FEE IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE!Come Visit Us!
