Our Featured Pet...

In memory of sweet Chocolate, the little puppy that fought and fought but his little body just gave up on him. :(

08/03/08 HAPPY ENDING! Lucky has been adopted by a wonderful family in PA with two boys to play with and a huge fenced-in yard to run and play. His name is now Buddy because everyone that meets him becomes his Buddy! What a happy ending for this great boy!

07/03/08 Bigfoot (now Lucky!) update: Well I finally had my sutures removed and am SO happy to be rid of that e-collar! I am now looking for my very own furever home and am very excited about my new life without pain! I am so grateful to all of the wonderful people that helped donated towards my surgery and to my wonderful foster mom who took such great care of me during recovery!

06/12/08 Update: Bigfoot - now named Lucky - underwent surgery and fortunately was able to be neutered at the same time. He has to wear an e-collar for two weeks and really doesn't like it, but is learning how to be a tripod and doing great so far! Thanks to everyone who donated towards his care and helped this boy have a wonderful future!

06/06/08 My name is Bigfoot and I was just rescued from the shelter after being brought in with a wire wrapped tightly around my rear foot. The wire cut off the circulation and my foot is now "dead" and gangrene has set in. The vet says I have to have my leg amputated, but I am only about a year old and very strong and should be able to bounce back. A wonderful nurse has offered to foster me after surgery to help me through recovery. Now I just need donations to help pay for my very expensive surgery! If you would like to donate, please use the Chip In button below or e-mail jennaluv2@yahoo.com.

News

We currently have Myrtle Beach coupon books called Enjoy the City that contain coupons for restaurants, golf, etc. They are available for $20 and Paws to the Rescue gets 50% of the profit! Please contact jennaluv2@yahoo.com if you are interested in purchasing a coupon book - we can even mail them to you!

Who We Are

Paws to the Rescue helps get animals from high kill shelters to approved rescues. We help pull animals scheduled for euthanasia and get them into temporary foster care or boarding, get necessary vaccinations for transport, and then set up transport to get these animals to safety. One of our main focuses is pregnant dogs and moms with newborns. Shelters are usually not equipped to handle birthing and new puppies, so sadly they are usually the first to be euthanized.

Want to help...but don't live near us?

We are always looking for transport help all over the east coast! If you are interested in being added to our list of contacts, please e-mail jennaluv2@yahoo.com. So many lives have been saved by our wonderful transporters!

Supplies & Donations

Paws to the Rescue is always in need of monetary donations to help pay for boarding, vaccinations, etc. We also need supplies for transporting, such as the following items:
- Collars & leashes
- Baby wipes
- Washable puppy pads
- Comforters, large towels and bath rugs
- Stainless steel food dishes
- Frontline Plus
- Dog treats, bones & toys

Paws to the Rescue is now on board with iGive! Any time you shop at one of the 680 stores they are affiliated with, we will receive a donation! Click the banner below to start shopping AND help the furbabies!

We can even send you pre-paid mailing envelopes. Please contact Elaine at etirmenstein@aol.com if you are interested in donating cartridges.

Adopting a friend

A lot of the animals that we pull from the shelters go to other approved rescues, but when we have foster space available we will adopt directly through our rescue. If you see an animal you are interested in, e-mail us for an Adoption Application. We are desperate for foster homes! The more fosters homes we have, the more lives we can save! If you would be interested in fostering, please e-mail jennaluv2@yahoo.com

If you don't see what you are looking for, please visit your local shelter or one of our other rescue friends. Check out some of their websites here:

Also please check out the Mary Ann Morris Animal Society shelter in Bamberg, SC. This shelter is in a very rural area and the volunteers work very hard to save as many animals as possible.
