Our Featured Pet...
News
The Humane Society of Cherokee County, Inc. has partnered with the Spartanburg Humane Society to utilize the SC No More Homeless Pets Program for low-income Cherokee County pet owners who want to spay and neuter their pets to prevent unwanted litters. For qualified pet owners, the cost for sterilization of a dog or cat is $15. Vaccinations are available for $13. To find out if you qualify for this program, call 864-487-4757 and leave a telephone number where you can be reached. Someone will call you back within 24 hours to schedule an appointment.
Who We Are
Cherokee County Consolidated Animal Shelter is the facility for the City of Gaffney (one animal control officer) and Cherokee County (two animal control officers), and is funded 100% by City of Gaffney and Cherokee County taxpayers.
Local animal welfare organizations are attempting to launch a unified effort to help more of these adoptable shelter animals find homes or sanctuary in no-kill rescues pending adoption.
Adopting a friend !
If you would like to adopt a shelter pet, please come to the shelter itself Monday through Friday, 8am until 4pm, to see the many dogs, cats, puppies and kittens who are looking for a home.
The animal control and shelter staff will NOT be responsible for adoptions. If you find a pet you would like to adopt, or for directions to the shelter, please contact us via email or call the shelter at 864-487-8529 for immediate action.
Other way to help!
The primary reason so many animals are put to sleep is because of rampant overpopulation due to failure of pet owners to spay and neuter their pets to prevent unwanted litters. Please help stop this by sterilizing your own pets and encouraging all your pet-owning friends to do the same!
