The mission of the York County Public Works is to provide quality services that improve and enhance the safety, cleanliness, health, and quality of life in our community by supporting federal, state, and local laws through the daily operations of the department.
Adopting a pet at the York County Animal Control is easy to do. There are usually many cats and dogs to choose from, as well as puppies and kittens that need a good home.
Dogs and cats can be adopted daily Monday through Saturday.
The adoption fee is $77. Your fee is used to help pay for spaying or neutering and medical care of the animal.
All stray animals are held for the time required by law.
If you need more information about adopting a pet call the Animal Shelter at (803) 818-6500.
The Animal Shelter is located off Highway 5 near the York County Moss Justice Center, one mile east of York.
Visiting hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
