Winter is almost upon us; please remember to make your outside pets as comfortable as you are in the house! Be sure they have adequate shelter. When it is severely cold outside, bring them inside. When very cold, feed them a hot meal in the evening and also make sure their water does not freeze.

Sue's Critters is entirely run by an individual who has devoted almost her entire life to the primary concern of the welfare of all animals. Through the years, she has played a large part in animal rescue from raiding Puppy Mills to large exotic animals. In the past five years, she has fostered successfully over 150 kittens, puppies, dogs and cats. When the group she was with was forced to close, she continued alone. Always being most conscientious about what kind of home and conditions the animal goes into, she has been successful.

If you are interested in a pet on this site, please email a request for an adoption application. Once references are checked, you will be contacted. It is possible a home visit will be scheduled to ensure the environment is appropriate to finalize the adoption. A final contract must be signed stating the animal must be returned should the adoption not work along with other agreements. Adoption fees are directly associated with the Veterinarian fees and will be evaluated with each animal. All pets are treated with heartworm prevention as well as flea prevention. All are spayed or neutered if age warrants it. If not, a signed agreement is made to have the surgery done at a proper time.
Each pet is groomed before going to a new home. Each is tested with children, other dogs, and cats. Dogs and puppies are crate-trained and if old enough, housetrained. They will be leash trained and good house manners will be a part of their training in order to become a housedog. All dogs are to be house pets, NOT "outside" dogs. My goal is to place happy, healthy family members. It must be mindful that all pets are in rescue have been abandoned, abused or neglected. This must be considered when adopting a rescued animal. In the animals' eyes, it may feel abandoned once again. Suggestions and encouragement will be given to help make the transition easier on the animal and the new family. All animals are fostered in my home and are given loving care and personal guidance. Please feel free to email asking questions about an animal. Sometimes, there are additional photos of a pet you might be interested in seeing. Always consider adopting a rescue pet. NEVER a Pet Store pet. Consider a senior animal to be your loving family member.
