of our Reps, Foster homes, Regional Coordinators, & Board Members are volunteers. Our only "payment" is the joy that comes when a homeless Aussie is placed
in a loving, caring, permanent home. ARPH Inc., is non-profit, and 501(c)3. All donations are tax-deductible. Aussie Rescue & Placement Helpline Inc., is
recognized as the Official Rescue group for the Australian Shepherd Club of America(ASCA). Learn more about ARPH, Inc. at this websiteARPH,Inc.
Adopting a friend
Important Info about Adopting ARPH Aussies: * The ARPH application is extensive, asking you to explain why you want an Aussie, and what type of home you can provide to a rescue Aussie. The ARPH program can deny an application if it does not meet the criteria for a potential adoptive home * After the applicant is APPROVED as an adoptive home, we can discuss the dogs that might be a good "match" for them in the ARPH program (based on the applicant responses, the
Aussies we have available and any children and/or animals in the home). We can refuse the adoption of a particular Aussie if we believe the dog is not "right" for this home. We do our best to keep the listings current, but occasionally, an adopted dog might remain listed for a few days (until the next scheduled update).
***URGENT!***
The following address is to Aussie's and Aussie mixes that are in shelters. Many times these dogs are very short on time. Please look for a dog listed in your area.

SUPPORTING AUSSIE RESCUE & PLACEMENT HELPLINE, INC. (ARPH)
Although ARPH charges an adoption fee for Aussies we place in new homes, this is never enough to cover our expenses. Ordinary vet costs (vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test and preventative, etc.) often exceed adoption fees, and we never recoup the day-to-day, miscellaneous expenses of housing foster dogs. When we commit to a dog that requires special care or surgery, these costs can become exorbitant. Sometimes foster space isn't available, and we may need to board a dog temporarily. All of these costs quickly add up.
We need your help to be able to provide the best care
possible for homeless Australian Shepherds. Giving a donation to our organization not only helps pay for ordinary expenses, but also helps us with our many extraordinary expenses.
SUPPORTING AN INDIVIDUAL DOG:
Some people prefer to earmark their donation for a specific dog, and we welcome and encourage this. All of our dogs need help, but sometimes associating a face and name with your donation makes it more personal. You may sponsor a dog that needs boarding, help to pay for a dog's special needs, or just help us feed and care for a particular dog.
Please read the biographies of our dogs, and if you can find it in your heart to help one of them, please let us know which dog you wish to support. Your name will be added to the dog's bio as the sponsor. Any donations that exceed the dog's expenses will be used to help other dogs through the general fund.
IN RETURN FOR YOUR DONATION:
Anyone making a donation of $50 or more will receive an ARPH Cookbook and your choice of an ARPH 2001 Dog of the Year tee shirt or sweatshirt - WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. Please let us know if your donation is to be used for a particular dog.

Other Ways To Help
DONATIONS: Money can be donated to the ARPH General Fund, a specific State Fund, or even designated for a specific purpose, such as Vet bills, Spay or Neuter, food, etc.
Reps incur many expenses for which they are not reimbursed; telephone, feeding the rescue Aussies, gasoline costs incurred while picking up dogs. If you decide that you'd like your donation used in your community, contact the ARPH Rep or Rescue Group in your area. If there is no one in your area, contact your local shelter, and ask if you can sponsor the Aussies that come through the shelter. There are also All-Breed Rescue Groups that will gladly provide the time and effort to rescue Aussies if you, and others, provide the monetary support.
APPLY TO BECOME A FOSTER HOME: Foster homes provide temporary shelter for the dog. The perfect foster home would be someone who could work on behavioral problems, is willing to housebreak, obedience train, socialize the rescue dog in their care. It should be someone who has no time limits on fostering, and doesn't become hysterical at the first sign of a health problem. In other words, someone with a LOT of dog experience, and a little common sense would be perfect. A good foster home is worth it's weight in gold to rescue, they take the dog(s)in, live with it, help train it, evaluate him/her and help to place the rescue into the right home.
MEDICAL SERVICES AND SUPPLIES: If you're a Vet, donate a Spay, Neuter or Heartworm treatment. If you're not, you can sponsor a dog, and donate the cost of one of these procedures.
TRANSPORTATION: People are always needed to transport dogs between shelters and foster homes, once a dog has met the criteria for acceptance into the ARPH program. Reps sometimes have to drive a great distances to get to an Aussie in need, so having someone bring a dog to a Rep is wonderful. You can also offer to accompany a Rep to pick up, deliver or evaluate a dog.
