Help Save One is a foster-based rescue. All of our animals are located in foster homes in various states. Since we do not have a centralized location, or a shelter, we do not have the ability for you to "meet and pick out" a dog or puppy. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience. If you are willing to travel to the foster home of the dog you are interested in, we are more than happy to allow you to meet the dog prior to adoption. However, we must have an approved application on file before we will set this up. This is for the protection and privacy of our dogs and foster homes.

We have a ton of applications coming in, and people are either not being serious about adopting, or never respond once their application is approved. We are working with URGENT dogs; we do not have enough manpower or time to answer emails that are not serious inquiries. PLEASE, when you send in an application, be prepared to adopt! Our dogs are urgent and most will be put down the week they are posted. If you are not ready to adopt right now, please wait until you are ready to adopt to send an application in. If you wish to meet a dog that is already in foster care, you must have an approved application before we can set up a meeting.
PLEASE ALSO SEND US AN EMAIL TO INFORMATION@HELPSAVEONE.ORG WHEN YOU HAVE FILLED OUT AN APPLICATION. We are having some issues with the applications, and sometimes we are not getting them. PLEASE send an email along with the app, so we can ensure that we do not miss any applications!!
Once the application is received and approved by us, you will be notified within 48-72 hours of your approval or denial. If you are approved, an adoption contract will be sent to you. When the contract is received by us, you will be notified and you must pay your dog's adoption donation within 24 hours. All fees are to be paid through paypal, on the Pay Fees page. Once money and contract is received, the dog will be pulled and placed in a foster home until the next available transport. Or, if the dog is already in a foster home, the foster parents will be alerted, and the dog will be placed on the next available transport.
To all potential adopters please read the next paragraph carefully:
Please do not submit an application if you are unable to wait patiently for your dog until they are ready to transport to you. This can be a week, a month, or longer. We do not transport dogs until they are ready to go home. If you are in a rush for a dog/puppy please do not apply with us and we encourage you to look at your local shelter which many times you can take your dog home the same day. Our organization rescues dogs that sometimes come from deplorable conditions and we do not release them until they are good and ready.
