Our Featured Pet...

Our featured pet is Monty. Monty is a young, beautiful ball python that loves to be held and petted. Monty is currently only 12" long, overall length. However, depending on Monty's sex, has the potential to reach 6' in length when fully grown. Ball pythons are known to be one of the most docile snakes. Although they can be fussy eaters at times, a ball python can make an intriguinq and unique addition to your family.

News

We are taking in select animals at this time. We still have several iguanas we need to find forever homes for. Thanks to everyone who has supported the center. The Rhode Island Pet Show is fast approaching. It is being held on March 8th and 9th at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Stop by to visit our scaly friends and say Hi!

Who We Are

We are a non-profit with the state of Rhode Island. Our (501)3C is in process. We take in iguanas, turtles, tortoises, frogs, toads, snakes and lizards to find them new homes. If they require veterinary care, they are treated and cared for until they are completely healthy. If they have any "bad" habits, we work with the animals to get them socialized. We rely entirely on donations. We are currently looking for people who would like to help out with the rescue.

Our Partners

The Critter Hut Aquarium & Pets, located in N. Kingstown, Rhode Island, is a partner with the Rhode Island Iguana Center. They are kind enough to house, feed and display select animals from the Center. The animals that are at their facility are rescue animals and the same adoption process applies.

Adopting a Friend

Potential adopters must complete an adoption application and be aproved. For some pets, a letter of recommendation from a veterinarian that treats the pet that you are interested in and knows you is required. A short telephone interview is also necessary. This may sound like a lengthy process, but we need to ensure that these pets are going to an informed, dedicated and loving environment and that the adopters are going to provide a forever home. The adoption fee varies depending on what pet you are interested in. Please be advised that the Center reserves the right to refuse an adoption request.
