Join us on Saturday, August 29th for the 11th Annual ADOPT golf tournament at Triggs Memorial Golf Course. Cost is $125 per person which includes a Texas Barbecue. If you do not golf you can still join us for dinner and a raffle. Dinner tickets are $35 per person. We thank everyone who has contributed to A.D.O.P.T. last year. Your generosity has enabled us to help many furry babies find new homes. All pets are fixed, vaccinated and given medical care before being adopted. Unfortunately this has been an extremely tough year and our funding has been exhausted at this time. We will be holding a dinner fundraiser in the spring to raise some much needed funding.

Cat overpopulation is worse than ever. For low cost cat spay/neuter call 401-793-0092 or 401-421-1399. Please check out all the beautiful babies that we have waiting for their forever homes.

We are holding a special fundraiser to purchase Kuranda Dog Beds for the dogs at the Cranston Animal Shelter. If you would like to help, please mail a check payable to A.D.O.P.T. in care of the Cranston Animal Shelter, 920 Phenix Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920. Please put Kuranda Bed in memo portion of your check. The volunteers of A.D.O.P.T. and all of our furry friends wish to thank everyone that helped us through the year. We received help in so many ways. Whether you were someone that adopted a new family member, sent a monetary or item donation, or showed up to volunteer your time, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your thoughtfulness, generosity and support! We will be holding a huge yard sale and flea market in the near future. Great bargains both new and used. Remember us through your payroll deductions.......our United Way Agency Number is 4818. Every $50 donation will spay a cat or neuter a dog!!! We are in desparate need of monetary donations......Our coffers are really low at this time due to the number of pets that we have helped. Watch for our pet photos with the Easter Bunny this spring and our golf tournament every summer.

Who We Are

Animals Depend On People Too, Inc., a not-for-profit volunteer organization is a group of animal lovers dedicated to helping stray, abandoned, homeless and injured animals at the Cranston Animal Shelter and throughout the state. Some of us have been involved as volunteers with the Cranston Animal Shelter for the last twenty-five years. We original volunteers saw a need to enhance on what we were able to do to help the vast number of homeless pets coming through the City Shelter. Thus, A.D.O.P.T. was born. For the last fourteen years our organization has been helping homeless pets by providing necessary life-saving veterinary care. Numerous companion pets have been given a second chance at life due to our efforts. We also provide specialized food and supplies when needed and educate the public to the need for the humane treatment and care of animals and the importance of spaying and castration. We help to connect people giving up pets with families looking for new four-legged family members. We also assist pet owners with catastrophic, overwhelming veterinary bills. Without our help these pets may not survive. Only with your help can we continue to provide needed care to the less fortunate companion animals and their families in our communities. We are in the business to help those who cannot help or heal themselves. Our major fundraising events are Pet Photos with Santa, Rudolph & Frosty, the original Pet Photos With the Easter Bunny and our Golf Tournament in May. Your donations also help us with vaccines such as rabies, distemper/Parvovirus, Feline Leukemia testing, Heartworm testing, etc in addition to the numerous spays, neutering, Heartworm treatments, parvo and upper respiratory treatments along with other medical treatments given to homeless pets in need. We spent over $18,000 on medical care alone last year. We have also helped many family pets throughout the state this year. Every dollar that you can spare helps us in our cause. We could never have accomplished what we have without your support. Please remember us through your payroll deductions. Our United Way Number is 4818
