Who We Are

Our animals are living at Westerly Animal Control. Stand Up For Animals is a small, but growing group of animal care professionals and animal advocates, based in Westerly Rhode Island. We are happy to announce that our new state of the art animal shelter will soon be a reality! In the meantime our animals are housed at the Westerly Animal Control (a short distance from our new shelter's building site). Adopting a friend

BEFORE YOU ADOPT. Make sure you can make a life long committment to a new pet. Often the cost, effort and time needed for responsible pet owner is overwhelming. Unfortunately this results in too many abandon, abused or neglected pets. Adoption Costs: All adoptions are $65.00. For intact animals $40 is returned after the animal is spayed or neutered. Come Visit Us! Westerly Animal Control Shelter, yards away from our new shelter, welcomes visitors Monday, Thursday, Friday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. Tuesday & Wednesday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Saturday 7:30 am - 3:00 pm. Sunday 7:30 am - 2 pm. Route 78, exit 5. Right at bottom of the ramp. Follow Transfer Station/ Recycle Center signs, look for Larry Hirsch Lane on your right. Animal shelter is at the end. WE ADVISE TO CALL AHEAD. ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICERS MAY BE OUT OF THE SHELTER ON AN OFFICIAL CALL. WE WILL DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO ACCOMODATE YOU FOR A VISIT!
