About Us
The animal shelter has a volunteer group called Friends of the Bristol Animal Shelter is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization working to supplement the efforts of the Town of Bristol, RI's no-kill Animal Care and Adoption Center. It is their mission to assist in providing a safe environment and emergency veterinary funding for the animals in their care until they find their forever homes. Please visit their website for more information:
Adoption Policies:

In order to adopt an animal from the shelter, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid form of I.D. Adopter must show proof of home ownership or a rental lease which allows pets. The adoption fee for cats is $85 and for dogs is $100 payable by check or money order only. Adoption applications are filled out at the shelter only, and only after you have met and interacted with the animal and have interviewed with an officer. All animals available for adoption can be viewed on petfinder.
PET OF THE MONTH:

"STORM"
Storm is a special needs cat because he is positive for Feline Leukemia. He is between 1 - 2 years old, mostly black with a white belly. Feline Leukemia is very contagious to other cats, so Storm needs to be placed in a home with no other cats or a home that already has positive cats. Storm's picture was taken in a cage because that's where he lives. He is confined to a cage 24 hours a day because we are an animal shelter with other cats that cannot be exposed to him without fear of them also becoming infected. This is a very sad situation. Storm is such a playful cat and wants nothing more to be able to just run around the room like a "normal" cat should. He has been vet checked and has been given a clean bill of health. Storm is desperate to find his forever home. It is our Holiday wish that Storm be home for the Holidays snuggled up by the fire being a "normal" cat. Please give them him a second chance as we have! If interested, please come in for a visit.
