NEWS!
We are collecting donations to help with our S.A.F.E. (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) campaign for dogs and cats. With these funds we rescue dogs that are about to be killed in our local shelters. We get them their necessary medical care such as spay/ neuter, shots, tests and place them into foster care where they are able to re-adjust to family life and get the love and training they need. We list them on petfinder, and for pitbulls, www.PBRC.net for adoption. We have helped over 60 dogs and 54 cats since the onset of the program last year. Please help us keep up the pace! Loving, adoptable dogs and cats deserve a better chance!
Who We Are
Rhode Island Animal Advocates works to end animal abuse and exploitation. We provide educational materials, hold informational demonstrations and take action to help rescued animals.
RIAA promotes spaying and neutering of pets to help end pet over-population.
Remember, in just seven years, one unspayed cat and her offspring can produce 420,000 cats!
RIAA also works to educate the public about the wonderful American Pitbull Terrier and their bull breed cousins.

All of our animals were rescued from one circumstance or another. When we place an animal, we are able to save another, so please check out our pet list!
Funding:
Your contributions help the rescues continue. If you would like to assist us in defraying the cost of spay/neuter, shots, testing, food, and other supplies, your tax-deductible donation can be sent to RIAA Rescue c/o RIARC, POBox 3463, Peace Dale, RI 02883. Write "rescue" in the memo of your check and, for the animals, we thank you!
Adopting a friend
RIAA volunteers put their heart and soul into these rescued animals. Therefore, potential adopters are carefully screened and must be proven responsible. Since our goal is to find the best possible home for our animals, adoption application, vet and personal references and homevisit are all required prior to approval for adoption. We also require puppies and most other dogs enter into a training program within 30 days of adoption. This ensures that the dog will be the best possible companion they can be and will reduce the likelyhood of the dog ending up back at a shelter.
All of our animals have been neutered or spayed, have all their shots, have been tested for heartworm and are on preventative. RIAA does ask for an adoption donation which simply reimburses us for our medical expenses, which are usually much lower than you would have to pay normally. Any additional contribution is completely voluntary, yet most appreciated!
Come Visit Us!
We do not currently have our own shelter. Our animals are in caring foster homes. We have a very limited amount of foster homes. If you are willing to open your heart and your home temporarily to a homeless kitty or dog, please contact us!
If you would like to visit an animal, we will make arrangements for you!
