Our Featured Pet...

Ms. Mina

Ms. Mina's favorite past-time is sitting in chairs and surveying her kingdom. Her highness prefers a chair to the common "ground" of the other dogs and sits happily, watching the world go by. This young adult female is short and stocky, and weighs in at about 55 pounds. She is very affectionate, with a moderate energy level and is very much in need of a loving home. >br> PLEASE REFER TO LOG# 356 WHEN INQUIRING ABOUT THIS DOG If you would like to meet a dog, please visit the shelter during regular business hours. Adopting a friend

Any animal which enters the shelter must be held for 5 full business days to give the owner a chance to claim him/her (when applicable in the case of strays). During that 5 day period, anyone that wants to adopt an animal can submit an adoption application for that dog. After the 5 day waiting period is up, applicants are called based on the appropriateness of the home for each and every animal's needs.

FEES AND PROCESS for DOGS: Most of our animals do not come into our care spayed or neutered therefore our adoption fee is $25 PLUS the cost of a pre-paid spay/neuter which usually ranges between $95-130. Basic shots are also given at the time of the surgery. The adoption fee for any animal that has come into our shelter already spayed or neutered is $25. We accept only checks or money orders, no cash. Spay/neuter fees are paid directly to the vet's office. Pit bulls and pit mixes must be spayed or neutered BEFORE leaving the city's custody therefore they stay at the shelter until the appointment and are dropped off at the vet by a shelter employee. The adopter can then pick them up post-op and take them home.

Please be prepared to have a notarized letter from your landlord if you rent, or a copy of your mortgage statement or deed if you own your property.

Proof of insurance (renter's or homeowners') with specific reference to a "pit bull" is required in Providence County in order to own/adopt a bully breed. We can help you acquire the necessary insurance (usually only about $175/yr) and answer any questions you may have.

We are always in need of kongs, boxed treats and toys for our dogs.
