Canned kitten food any brand/flavor
Individual cardboard scratching posts that can hang on the inside of cat cages
Bound carpet samples are cats love them in their cages and they are great for them to scratch on.
Peanut butter or any cans of Kong treat filler for the dogs.
Any kind of Scoopable clumping cat litter for our house cat "Moose"
Recycled newspaper pellet litter any brand is fine and we are always in need of litter. Yesterday's News is just one of the brands we use.
Dyer sheets and sponges to wash dishes
Dog and Cat Shampoo or just plain baby shampoo any kind of grooming supplies dog wipes, ear cleaner , doggie nail polish/hair color doggie cologne.
Grain free small bite dog food for our special dogs who have allergies or skin problems
Pens, fine tip colored markers and 4x6 index cards
Gently used harnesses, collars and leashes for dogs and cats.
Washable used or new dog/cat beds
Right now we are nicely stocked up on

THE SHELTER ONLY ACCEPTS CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS FOR ADOPTIONS.
Adoption Fee for cats $95.00 includes spay/ neuter rabies and distemper vaccination.(rabies only if 12 weeks or older at time of altering) Adoption Fee for Dogs $180-$200 including vaccinations ,heart worm test, 1st months heart worm pill and flea control.
Adoption process...You must fill out an application at the animal shelter.
You will need to bring your drivers license,and proof that your able to have a pet,if you rent you will need a copy of your lease agreement, or a notarized letter from your landlord .If you own your own home a mortgage statement, or a city tax bill.
Out of state adoptions are accepted.
All stray animals are held for 10 days to give their owner a chance to claim them. We do not show animals out of their cages during the 10 day holding period to perspective adopters. You can fill out an application for any animal even if it is not available for adoption yet. After the 10 days are up they become available for adoption,the dog or cat will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated and adopters are able to interact with the pets.
All Animals are altered before leaving the Cranston Animal Shelter NO exceptions..
If your newly ""ADOPTED PET ""does not work out you can return the pet to the Cranston Animal Shelter for a full refund of fees associated with spay/neuter reimbursements or cost of vaccines and tests within 30 days of the adoption. Your $20.00 donation is NOT refundable.

The shelter does not show animals out of their cages 1/2 hour prior to closing.

We are open to the Public Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 11:30 to 3:30 pm Saturdays 11:00 to 3:00.
Directions: Rte. 95 to exit 14 take 37 west to the end bear right shelter is a 1/4 mile on right..from Rte. 295 take Phenix Ave. exit to the end then bear right. We are a 1/4 mile on the right.
