SAVING LIVES FOR TEN YEARS!!!!

PLEASE HELP US HONOR ALL OF THOSE THAT KEEP OUR DOORS OPEN!

Who We Are

It's been ten years as of February 14th that Bonnie and a hand full of volunteers that make up the team of Second Chance Animal Rescue. Every one of us has a vast array of responsibilities that tend to change daily based on our most urgent need. On thing goes without saying....we could not do what we do without the help of our stateside support teams who have held strong during the face of adversity and have shared in our excitement when the perfect home is found for a long awaiting Sato. We've all shared tears, emptied our wallets together and have celebrated our unified efforts....we are a team. Second Chance starts and ends with one woman...Bonnie Lukas. She is the guts of what keeps us moving. It's her passion to see strength and fight in the lives of a dog left for dead on the street and a willingness to do whatever it takes to help them is what sets her apart from so many others. It's because of this passion that she has such a strong following and has earned a reputation on island as being a loyal team player...someone who will never turn a blind eye. Making it ten years is a huge milestone for us and we would love to honor this landmark by paying down the hefty medical bill that looms over our heads. It's a mandatory expense that carries with it a very high finance charge. To get this bill paid down would truly bring us all great relief. We have added Pay Pal to our donations page or you can write a check with a note to apply directly to our medical expenses. Confirmations of Donations will of course follow for your accounting needs. A typical rescue includes a trip to the veterinarian for a complete health check-up which includes vaccinations, worming, heartworm check and spay or neuter. If there is a more serious condition we go the extra mile. We rehabilitate the physically and emotionally distressed soul. Then we find a good home that meets the requirements of Second Chance Animal Rescue both within Puerto Rico and the United States. Through our best efforts, we address all medical needs of each rescue however, we simply can't treat what we don't see and thus cannot assume any financial responsibility for the rescue once it has left our care. The adopter must therefore assume all medical needs and liability at the time of adoption. Thank you.

OUR ADOPTABLE PETS!

Adopting a friend

To adopt a dog or puppy from us please go to our website by clicking on "Visit Our Home Page" below. Go to "Adoption Guidelines", then click on "application" and copy and paste our application form into email. Once completed, send to satoheart@yahoo.com.

By requesting information on an animal and initiating the screening process, it is not a guarantee that the particular animal that you have inquired about is yours to adopt. This is only the first stage of the adoption process. S.C.A.R. does not place our animals on a "first come, first served" basis, but does adopt to the best home possible for the animal. Generally, our mission is to find the right match for you and the rescue so that all parties can live happily ever after!

Our rescues are ready for adoption from head to toe. We must ask for a minimum donation of $250 to cover their medical expenses and rehabilitation. We hope that you'll be inspired by our fight to given them a better life and thank you in advance for your support.
