***Save the date! Please join us for Augie's Army Wine & Chocolate Fundraiser to benefit Rescue Dogs Rock!***
This event will take place at Deerfield Fine Wines (205 Louviers Drive, Newark, DE 19711) on Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 5 pm - 8 pm. It is for adults only and is in celebration of the life of our very own little Augie, an amazing dog who brought an entire community together during a six day search for him after he went missing from his foster home. Though the outcome was not what we had hoped for, Augie brought a community together and taught us all about the power of love, support, and hope that is around all of us. Through working together, we can continue to save many more animals who need our help and we cannot do it without you! This fundraiser will help us continue our rescue work to help animals in need.
Please join us for delicious wine, chocolate, raffle items, a silent auction, 50/50, pet readings by Jackie Rettberg (pets do not need to be present), and lots more...all to support a great cause! You will meet other people who share a love for animals and have a great time. We look forward to seeing you there!
We are still in need of items/services/gift certificates to be donated for our fundraiser. Would you like to donate an item/service/gift certificate to help make our fundraiser a success? If so, please email us at RDRAnimalRescue2014@gmail.com.
We are currently in need of loving foster homes for our rescued animals. Please visit our website (www.rescuedogsrock.org) for more information on becoming a foster parent.
We are also currently in need of supplies for our rescue. To view a list of items we need, please visit our website (www.rescuedogsrock.org). All donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Please visit out website (www.RDRanimalrescue.org) to download an adoption appliaction which can be submitted by email or fax. All applications must contain accurate and complete information. We require that you be at least 21 years of age.
Your application will then be received and processed. This usually takes one to two days and includes required veterinary and personal reference checks which will be completed by our volunteers.
We will contact you after your application has been reviewed and, if approved, we will schedule and complete a required home visit. We ask that all family members and animals living in the home be present for the home visit.
When possible, we will bring the animal(s) you are interested in adopting with us to your home to meet you and your family. If this is not possible, we will contact you to schedule another time for you and your family (including animals in your family) to meet the animal(s) you are interested in adopting.
Following an approved home visit and meeting with the animal(s) you would like to adopt, the last step in our adoption process is to complete and sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. What's next? You get to take your furry friend home to love and spoil!
Please visit our website for more information about our adoption process and also to read the 'Frequently Asked Questions' page of our website for additional information about our rescue. This page includes information regarding our spay/neuter policy and what our adoption fees include.
Rescue Dogs Rock Animal Rescue was started in 2011 as part of an another animal rescue based out of Chester County, PA. The PA rescue split and the NJ entity was born. All of us at Rescue Dogs Rock Animal Rescue share a love and passion for animals. We use our vast years of rescue experience along with our desire to help animals in need. We are also dedicated to raising public awareness related to animal welfare issues. Through animal rescue/placement, animal advocacy, and education of the public, it is our hope that we may make a positive difference in the lives of animals.
We rescue primarily unwanted companion animals, focusing mainly on dogs and puppies of all ages and breeds. Many of the animals we rescue come from crowded animal shelters, abusive/neglectful situations, and private surrenders. All of our rescued animals are spayed or neutered prior to placement unless they are less than six months of age and/or cannot be spayed or neutered for health reasons. In this case, we require that the animal be spayed or neutered once he/she is old enough and is determined by a veterinarian to be healthy enough to be spayed or neutered. In addition, all of our animals are microchipped and receive all necessary vaccines and medical care prior to being adopted. This care includes heartworm testing, fecal testing, and monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
In order to help us ensure our animals are adopted by loving and responsible forever families, we only place animals in homes with individuals/families after the completion of our adoption process. Our adoption process includes the completion and approval of an adoption application, veterinary and personal references, and a home visit. In addition all applicants must complete/sign an adoption contract at the time of the adoption.
Please note that we are currently in the process of applying for federal non-profit status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

We do not own a shelter but are a foster based rescue. All of our rescues live with families. Therefore, applicants need to be pre-screened in order to meet our rescues. In order to meet our animals outside of our adoption events, we require that you first complete an adoption application. Once your application is approved, we will contact you to set up a home visit and a time for you to meet our animals. For more information about our rescue, please visit us at www.RDRanimalrescue.org.
