Operation Ava is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization started in 2009 by a nine-year old girl named Ava. Her idea was first to sell cookies at the local park to help raise money for people who had sick dogs and cats and did not have the money to help their pets. Most pets, whose families can not care for them, are dropped off at local shelters and Ava did not want this to happen. She believes no one should lose their pets. One little girl’s simple idea of selling cookies for donations has turned into being able to help multiple animals with their surgeries. For instance, Operation Ava was able to help a cat that needed surgery on his leg in order to live. Operation Ava is now partnering up with shelters all across the nation to help all the pets that need loving homes. All it took was one person to step up. Will you?
