Cat NAPS is a small rescue organization primarily serving Montgomery County, PA. Our mission is to advocate Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) as a humane solution to control the feral cat population; locate appropriate homes for adoptable stray cats and kittens; and provide a limited number of special-needs cats with a place where they can live a quality life until adopted.
Interested in adopting? Email us at notallperfectstrays@yahoo.com. We will email you our adoption application. We also welcome questions you may have
on a cat that you see listed or on the adoption process itself!
Our application asks for basic information about you, name of your current vet, and an additional reference. We charge an adoption fee of $85 to offset the costs
of vet care to get our cats ready for adoption.
We are also happy to pre-approve you to adopt a cat in case you don't see the specific cat that you want or anticipate adopting in the near future.
As a rescue we are always bringing in new cats of various ages, breeds, and colors. So check back frequently if you do not see the type of cat that you want right now. You can also contact us to see what cats we have that will be available soon.
All cats adopted out by Cat NAPS are healthy, spayed/neutered, litterbox trained, and
have tested negative for feline leukemia (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) (unless otherwise specifically noted).
Please consider adopting a Special Needs cat if you are able. Special Needs cats are capable of great love, and are very deserving of good homes. They are "Not All
Perfect Strays", but that one cat may be the perfect one for you!

We are currently working on a large Trap Neuter Return project in Pottstown. Many of these cats are in alleyways, where they do not have someone to regularly feed them. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to bring into our foster homes all of the friendly cats that we are finding at these sites. Recognizing that there aren't enough good indoor-only homes for every adoptable cat, we'd like to offer some of these individuals a better home than an alley and adopt them out as friendly barn cats or to homes where they could be indoor/outdoor cats.
If you have a home that would accommodate one or more outdoor cats, we would love to hear from you! There are cats of many different colors, some more friendly (and others though shy and/or feral who still need a safe place). Adopting barn cats is a great way to really make a difference for an animal in need. Email us at notallperfectstrays@yahoo.com.
We have created a blog to showcase our ongoing efforts on this challenging project. Please visit our blog (CLICK HERE) and check back regularly for new posts!
We would like to highlight some of the wonderful stories of special cats that have come into our rescue. Please read these and see what a little love and compassion can do for an animal in need.
Midnight: Midnight was a feral cat with FIV. Because she was not friendly with people, she never made it to be
adopted. She was loved by us though, and she taught us many wonderful lessons. She helped us to realize that FIV is not to be feared, and that cats with FIV can
and DO live long healthy lives. She also demonstrated love and dedication to many of the other FIV+ cats that have come through our rescue and been adopted out. We loved Midnight
the way she was, and she will truly be missed.

Butch: Butch came from a Trap Neuter Return project at a local car dealership. At ten years old, he had already
beaten the odds of staying alive outside. Butch came to appreciate the simple things in life - a soft bed and regular food. He was the constant companion to
Midnight (story above). He had a unique, elegant manner and was always a gracious individual. His presence here will always be missed.

Mr Black: Mr Black wandered into our yard and our lives. With patience he came to understand what it means to be loved,
and returned that love unconditionally. He became our indoor-outdoor companion and our official greeter for any visitors.
In November we lost him all too soon to cancer, but we will keep his memory in our hearts.

We do not have a shelter facility. All cats that we rescue are housed in foster homes until they are adopted. Please email us if you are interested in one of our cats. Once your application is approved, we would welcome you to visit our cats in their foster home or make alternate arrangements for you to meet the cats.
Donations are greatly appreciated, both large and small! We have no paid staff. All donations go directly to the care of our cats. We can always use gift cards to Pet Supplies Plus or Pet Valu! Gift cards can be sent to our mailing address below. Checks can also be sent to the below address, though we ask that they please be made payable to French Creek Vet (to help offset our vet costs).
