Rescuers Creed

WE WILL BE CLOSED FROM MAY 1-9 . CALLS OR EMAILS WILL NOT BE RETURNED UNTIL AFTER THE 10TH.

I shall be a believer of all that is good in man and of all that is deserving in animals. I shall plead for their lives, campaign for their safety and uphold their right to a natural death. I shall seek out the injured and the maimed, the unloved, and the abandoned and tend to them in their last days. I shall not forget their place in the hierarchy of life, nor that we walk in each other's paths. I shall bear witness to the wonder they bring into our lives and to the beauty they bestow upon our souls. I shall renew their spirits when they are waning, bind their wounds when they bleed, cradle them when they whimper, and comfort them when they mourn. I shall be near them in their hour of greatest need - a companion and friend when the time has come. I shall watch over them and console them and ask that the angels gather them in their arms. From the creatures of the earth I shall learn the fruits of compassion and undying love, and I shall be called the beloved of God. In their company I shall indeed be blessed. Susan M. Pearson ~

Would you like to help in other ways? The rescue is always open to monetary donations or if you'd like, you can pick a specific dog to sponsor until he or she gets adopted. We can give you a weekly update on how he/she is doing, photos included! If you prefer, you can donate supply's too! Leashes and collars are always in high demand. So are small area rugs or pillows for our furry friends to sleep on. Whatever it is, know the dogs will love it and be FURever grateful.

Who We Are

Rescue has made me loose my mind .. But find my soul. This has been a amazing journey! We have rescued over 500 dogs since 2009 and have met some wonderful people. We rescue dogs from high kill shelters in the southern states. We place them in foster homes for two weeks vetting them and having them evaluated . Everything you read on their bio's are current and up to date . LHR is based out of my home. My dream is to build a building that will house these dogs more efficiently and to be able to offer them more training So they will be even more amazing when they are adopted. Emailing is preferred. Please do not call me asking about more information about the dog. We are constantly updating our dogs. IF you fill out a application we will call you to talk to you about the dog you have requested. Sometimes we find out its NOT the perfect fit and we will either suggest another dog or tell you that it will not work. When possible we can connect you with the foster that is fostering your dog so you may ask any questions. We work hard making sure this is the right fit for your family!! We are located in Susquehanna County, Hop Bottom Pa . We are NOT a shelter, All of our rescues are in a HOME environment. .. We spend weeks before we post them getting to know their personalities and molding them to become betters pets. We live on a 48 acre farm with 2 acres enclosed with Invisible Fence. The dogs are free to roam the two acres and learn to respect boundaries. Crate training is a must . We also have 5 dogs and two cats, so we can see first hand how our rescues act with other animals Thank you for taking the time to visit us! Our dogs photos do not do them justice. Adopting a friend

We are committed to matching the right dog with the right family so everyone will have many happy years together. Our adoption process includes the completion of an application, phone/home interview, veterinary reference, adoption fee and contract. Our application is the first step in the process and the fastest way to begin the process is to submit your completed adoption application. The adoption fee ($175-$250) also helps to defray our expenses for their food and veterinary care. Most of our dogs and puppies are transported to Pennsylvania via vehicular transport. Occasionally, some of our puppies are in Pa foster homes but most of the rescued dogs/puppies originally come from southern rescue/foster homes and will come to Pa. We carefully screen the dogs and the applications to insure a good match and a successful adoptions. You will receive information about your dog , including a comprehensive phone conference with the foster mom. Remember, when you adopt you save not only 1 life but 2, the dog you are adopting and the 1 waiting to take it's place! Fill out your application here! Adoption Application

Hours of Operation

Rescue is being run out of my personal home and some of the dogs are living in foster care

so we ask that you call between the hours of 9-2 and 4:30-6 Monday through Friday

Saturday and Sunday email only please!
