"If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man." - Mark Twain Who We AreWe are an extremely small, dedicated group of volunteers trying to help animals in need. We are in need of foster homes in order to expand our organization. If you would like to help, but are unable to foster at this time, there are many other volunteer opportunites available. You can also sponsor any of the animals listed to help pay for their veterinary expenses, food, etc. 100% of all donations go directly to the care of our animals and not administrative expenses. Many of the dogs we have pulled from shelters have required treatment for Heartworm, which can be quite costly. At this time we are not a 501c3 organization, so your donations are not tax deductible, but we hope to file the necessary paperwork shortly.Adopting a Family MemberOur goal is to place these wonderful dogs in loving homes for the rest of their lives. We strive to find the best fit for both the dog and your family's lifestyle. In order to achieve this, our adoption process requires an application to be filled out along with references checks. After that information is obtained and reviewed by our board, a home visit is sheduled without the dog. Once the applicant is approved, then a meet and greet is setup to determine how the personalities with existing family members mesh. If all seems good, we then have a trial period while everyone settles in and after that the adoption is finalized. We realize this may seem like a long process, but our committment is to the animal - they are our extended family for life and we only want what is best for them.Learn About UsKya's Rescue Angels organization is NOT a shelter. You must be approved for adoption prior to visiting with an animal of interest in its foster home, although you can visit with us at one of our adoption days. All of our animals are placed in foster homes or are adopted directly from their current homes.Click here for a list of pets at this shelter

Update 3/3/09: Jasmine has been in a foster to adopt situation for a little while now and it's going great, in fact, they are getting ready to finalize the adoption. Thank you to everyone that contacted us wanting to help this very sweet girl. We do have more chows in need - ones that will be added to this site shortly, so please check back tomorrow. EXTREMELY URGENT SITUATION: Jasmine, a very sweet 8yr old chow will be without a home as of 1/31/09. She is currently all by herself in an empty home - her best friend was taken by a friend and she was left. Please consider fostering or adopting Jasmine today - see her story and pictures below:
Daisy(Rat Terrier) and Jasmine (Chow-Chow) are desperately looking for a new home. Their mommy and daddy both died within 16 months of each other, and now they are orphans. Daisy is a 2 year old spayed Rat Terrier, and Jasmine is an 8 year old spayed Chow-Chow. I met both dogs for the first time tonight and they love to give kisses and get scratched--Jasmine loves her tail area scratched while Daisy prefers her belly. Both girls are housebroken, non-destructive, good with kids (they loved when their parents grandchildren visited!), good with other dogs, but have never been around cats. They are very good watch dogs. They will bark and let you know someone is outside, and if they could get to them, shower them with kisses. They need to be placed together because Jasmine used to have another doggie sibling and when she passed, poor Jasmine was so distraught she began pulling her hair out, so her family got Daisy to be her new companion. Updated: Jan 20, 2008: A friend of Daisy's daddy has decided to take her into her home and care for her. This only leaves Jasmine to find a safe place to go. She is very lonely by herself and would do better in a home with another dog. She only has until Jan 31st to find a place to go, whether it be a foster home or adoptive home. The house that she has lived in for 8 years is being packed up, and she don't understand why. Can you find it in your heart to foster or adopt this precious senior girl? She is now by herself at this house, the friend that took Jasmine, stops by to feed Jasmine, but takes Daisy back with her when she leaves. Jasmine is now all alone at the house, which is her worst fear. Please consider fostering or adopting Jasmine today!!!!!!
