If you are interested in making a donation, please let us know. We can accept donations through Paypal or alternative forms at your discretion. We would gladly appreciate old towels and blankets. Who We Are
Hello and welcome to Almost Home Animal Sanctuary. We are an all volunteer rescue in the process of applying for nonprofit status. Almost Home was created out of a desire to honor Ruey, a rescued Neapolitan Mastiff, who provided years of unsurpassed joy, companionship, and love. While Ruey will be forever missed, AHAS can provide homes for pets like Ruey, who need help finding their special forever home. Thus, Almost Home was born out of our deep love of animals. Rescuing animals is our passion. We believe that both pet and adoptive home can blossom when the right match is made. We strive to heal hearts by spreading love to two footed and four footed creatures alike. We love each animal that passes through our doors and provide an Almost Home, until they go to their forever home.
WHY ADOPT FROM ALMOST HOME ANIMAL SANCTUARY?
By providing each animal with an Almost Home, we care for each pet in a home environment. We feel that this benefits the foster pets and potential forever homes. Each animal receives one-on-one attention and affection, while we get to observe the pets in a true household. We are therefore able to address and report real-life issues.

ADOPTION PROCESS
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Almost Home Animal Sanctuary. Please take note of the process listed below which you will need to follow in order to adopt an animal through our program. We appreciate your assistance in our efforts to match the best home with each animal.
APPLICATION:
In order to adopt one of our animals, please start by contacting AHAS and filling out an adoption application. At this time, we can fax, email, or send the application to potential homes. We are in the process of creating an online version and will be able to take online applications soon. The application must be completed and submitted before a home can be considered. After the application has been received, an AHAS representative will contact you.
HOME VISIT:
A home visit will be scheduled. An AHAS representative will visit your home to make sure the dog or cat will have a suitable loving environment. On occasion, an AHAS will conduct a home visit while delivering the adoptive pet.
Once approved by AHAS, you will be able to adopt one of our wonderful pets. In most cases, the pet will be delivered to its new home to assist with the adjustment and ease the transition.
ADOPTION DONATION:
The adoption donation for animals from AHAS will be individualized to each pet. The suggested donation is used to cover the cost of vet care, food, and supplies. We endeavor to keep each animal in a home environment, which costs more, although we feel provides the best situation for all. We are able to work closely with each animal, as well as observe how they behave in the home. Plus, the animals receive far more affection when they are in a home. Adoption donations allow us to continue providing this level of care. We gratefully accept donations that surpass our suggested fee.
