No Need for Speed Greyhound Adoption is a non-profit, charitable organization comprised of volunteers dedicated to finding loving homes for retired, racing greyhounds regardless of age or medical condition. We are dedicated and caring individuals committed to finding well-deserved "forever homes" for these greyt animals!
We are based out of Allentown, Pennsylvania and have been in operation since the spring of 2006. All of our founding members have been greyhound owners (or have been owned by greyhounds) for many years.
We place greyhounds in foster homes or our kennel as they come off the racetrack so that we may provide food, shelter, training, socialization, and love during their transition from racing career to pet.
We also provide education to the public and prospective homes about retired racing greyhounds. Education will be conducted at Meet and Greets. These are set up in scheduled public places like inside pet stores and outside department stores. Meet and Greets allow us to interact with the public and introduce the public to greyhounds that need homes.
We also organize fund-raising events in order to provide for the greyhounds in our care. These events are conducted by volunteers.
Adoption Requirements
An adoption application form must be completed. Our volunteers will review your application and check references prior to approving your application.
A house visit and interview will be performed in order to determine the best greyhound for your home and to answer any questions you may have.
You make a non-refundable donation of $250 which will be collected upon delivery of your greyhound. This donation entitles you to: a spayed/neutered greyhound with up-to-date vaccinations and dental work; a martingale collar, leash, and racing muzzle; a "No Need For Speed" identification tab; and an information packet on greyhounds.

1st Saturday of every month, next scheduled on TBA from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Petco, 2621 Macarthur Road, Whitehall
2nd Saturday of every month, next scheduled on July 11 from 11:00
AM - 2:00 PM at Petco, 3300 Lehigh Street at the South Mall, Allentown
3rd Saturday of every month, next scheduled for July 18 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Pet Supply Plus, Union Blvd. Allentown

Wanna Help Out?
Our organization is comprised of volunteers. We can't do what we do without the dedication and commitment of volunteers. We welcome new volunteers to help us with our mission of finding "forever homes" for retired, racing greyhounds.
If you cannot adopt at this time but still would like to make a difference in the life of a greyhound, here are some ways you can help:
Volunteer to foster a greyhound until he/she finds a permanent home. Just think what it would be like to teach a retired racer the basics of being a pet. It's not hard, and it's very rewarding to both you and the dog.
Sponsor a Meet and Greet so others may find out about greyhounds.
Organize a fundraising event.
We are always grateful when indivdiuals or businesses are able to donate veterinary care, printing, catering, mechanical, or any other services to help our greyhounds.
Financial contributions are also always welcome! Additionally, donations of office supplies, stuffed animals, used bedding and towels, and/or dog food are always greatly appreciated!
