Who We Are
Pooch protector Rescue is a small organization. We have limited space and resources. We can always use donations! : ) We focus on the welfare of each dog in our rescue. Training them and making them more adoptable, well rounded pets is our goal! Michelle is the founder of Pooch Protector Rescue. She has had dogs all of her life and has done informal rescue as long. Pooch Protector has been up and going for 5 years and We are very proud of our organization. We want whats best for the dogs. We try to help mostly large dark dogs as they are more unlikely to be adopted out of a shelter. We do at times get in small dogs also.
Adopting a friend
This is how Pooch Protector Rescues adoption process begins. You email us and tell us about yourself, your family, all its members, furfriends living in the home and why you think this dog would be a great fit into your family.
We will *not* adopt to anyone under the age of 25 so please dont ask. Our adoption area is limited to 1.5 hours from pittsburgh in any direction. Sorry but we like to be able to keep an eye on our furfriends! Thank you for understanding!! We also require vet references! We are not unreasonable people and we do understand the desire to own a wonderful dog. Please be patient!
Pooches here have a wish list!! We can always use blankets, towels, bowls, leashes, collars, toys, large crates, food. Our foster mom believes in feeding us nutrintional kibble, so giving us gift certificates for Healthy Pet Products is an awesome donation. Healthy Pet Products in located in the north hills and their number is 412-366-0700. We love this store and enjoy all the yummy treats that Tom & Julie let us sample!! Foster mom says nutrition is important so we can live long and happy lives!! Thank you for considering giving us any type of donation!!
