According to a 1997 study of 1,000 animal shelters across the country approximately 1,000,000 dogs and 584,000 cats were taken in as strays. Unfortunately for the owners’ and the animals, only 16% of those dogs and 2% of those cats were returned to their owners, thousands of those left behind had to be euthanized. http://www.24petwatch.com//index.asp
The "Lunch Ladies" take a much deserved break from volunteering at the Carroll County Pound! Pictured are Lore-Calico Creek Critters Rescue, Melinda-New Beginnings Rescue, Lauren-Stop the Suffering Rescue, and Diane-private rescuer.
Meet Miss CoCo Chanel! This adorable little Chocolate Lab puppy was dumped at the pound by her owners because she was "sick". And that she certainly was! She was hours away from the gas chambers when we loaded up and drove to Ohio to rescue her. CoCo is being treated for numerous health problems--none of them as serious as we first thought, thank Heavens! She is well on her road to recovery, but we could use some help with her vet bills. If you can make a small donation towards CoCo's vet bill, please Pay Pal, or contact us and you can send a donation straight to her vet.
We are currently accepting applications to adopt this little sweetheart, and she will be ready for her furever home as soon as she is given a clean bill of health!
UPDATE: A BIG THANK YOU to all who have inquired and sent well wishes to CoCo! After much "nursing", CoCo was given a clean bill of health, and has gone to her furever home!

Who We Are
We are a small group of home-based rescuers, doing our best to put an end to homeless and unwanted pets. While we started out on a mission to rescue Jack Russell and Boston Terriers, we have found it's very difficult to turn away others in need, and now rescue other small breeds as well.
The majority of our pets have come to us from pounds and shelters, where they were in danger of being euthanised. We also rescue from puppy mills and back yard breeders.
PLEASE consider adopting a rescued pet before buying from a pet store or backyard breeder! If you would like to know more about the puppy mills that supply pet stores, please follow the link to watch a video.

We are non-profit, and are in the process of filing for 501(c)3 status. All expenses come straight from our pocket and through the kind donations of great folks just like you. Won't you help us in our quest to help the animals? EVERY donation, no matter how small, can make a HUGE difference in the lives of our rescues!

Have you found the perfect pet for your family? Please call or email us for an adoption application. 
Once your application has been reviewed and approved, we will arrange for you to meet your "new best friend". Adoption fees vary with each individual dog.
We feed and recommend Hills Science Diet Pet Food, and all of our furkids go home with a bag formulated specifically for their particular needs.

Meet Miss CoCo Chanel! This adorable little Chocolate Lab puppy was dumped at the pound by her owners because she was "sick". And that she certainly was! She was hours away from the gas chambers when we loaded up and drove to Ohio to rescue her. CoCo is being treated for numerous health problems--none of them as serious as we first thought, thank Heavens! She is well on her road to recovery, but we could use some help with her vet bills. If you can make a small donation towards CoCo's vet bill, please Pay Pal, or contact us and you can send a donation straight to her vet.
We are currently accepting applications to adopt this little sweetheart, and she will be ready for her furever home as soon as she is given a clean bill of health!

The majority of our pets have come to us from pounds and shelters, where they were in danger of being euthanised. We also rescue from puppy mills and back yard breeders.

Meet Miss CoCo Chanel! This adorable little Chocolate Lab puppy was dumped at the pound by her owners because she was "sick". And that she certainly was! She was hours away from the gas chambers when we loaded up and drove to Ohio to rescue her. CoCo is being treated for numerous health problems--none of them as serious as we first thought, thank Heavens! She is well on her road to recovery, but we could use some help with her vet bills. If you can make a small donation towards CoCo's vet bill, please Pay Pal, or contact us and you can send a donation straight to her vet.
We are currently accepting applications to adopt this little sweetheart, and she will be ready for her furever home as soon as she is given a clean bill of health!

The majority of our pets have come to us from pounds and shelters, where they were in danger of being euthanised. We also rescue from puppy mills and back yard breeders.
PLEASE consider adopting a rescued pet before buying from a pet store or backyard breeder! If you would like to know more about the puppy mills that supply pet stores, please follow the link to watch a video.

We are non-profit, and are in the process of filing for 501(c)3 status. All expenses come straight from our pocket and through the kind donations of great folks just like you. Have you found the perfect pet for your family? Please call or email us for an adoption application. Once your application has been reviewed and approved, we will arrange for you to meet your "new best friend". Adoption fees vary with each individual dog.
We feed and recommend Hills Science Diet Pet Food, and all of our furkids go home with a bag formulated specifically for their particular needs.
