The Delaware Valley Pug Rescue (DVPR) is a no kill, breed specific rescue. We are a working alliance of volunteer members dedicated to prolonging and improving the quality of life for Pug Dogs in need.
Members come from various walks of life, but share a commonality of purpose in our appreciation and sincere love of the breed. While not a prerequisite for participation, most volunteers are Pug Dog owners or members of either the Pug Dog Club of America or another nationally recognized breed club.
Permanent homes are prescreened and approved by a DVPR representative. We provide a service for Pug Dog owners who, for whatever reason, find it impossible to keep their pet. Interim foster care is provided for a pug when a medical condition is being stabilized, a permanent home is approved, or an immediate surrender is necessary.
Our rescue focuses on the placement of only Pug Dogs, many of whom have been registered with the American Kennel Club. It is the mission of the DVPR to place the Pug Dogs as non-breeding pets; therefore, spay/neutering is mandatory and registrations become the property of the DVPR.
Funding of the rescue is accomplished through the generosity of private donations, surrendering owners, and adopters. As such, all donations are gratefully accepted and are used at the discretion of the DVPR to further its work in promoting and protecting this most charming breed.
