HISTORY: Leah is a kitten that needs your help. Leah was 5 weeks old when she was found in the middle of the road, where she was placed in hopes that she would be run over. Leah had a very serious eye infection in which her eyes were very swollen causing her to be blind. We rescued her and took her to an eye specialist who advised us that with care, Leah might be able to see. We gave Leah that care and the swelling in her eyes went down. Leah was taken back to the eye specialist for a follow-up visit. The doctor advised us that Leah had lost one of her eyes due to the infection. Her other eye might be able to be saved through surgery. We feel Leah deserves a chance to see again. If that were not bad enough, the eye infection has caused Leah to have seizures and she now must take seizure medication twice a day. Leah needs all the help she can get and it is for Leah that we ask for your help. Leah's medical expenses have been and will continue to be great. We ask that you consider helping Leah with your donations toward her future medical expenses. All donations, which are tax exempt, should be sent to Lower Bucks Kitten &Cat Rescue Organization, P.O. Box 85, Fairless Hills, Pa. 19030. You could make a big difference in this little kittens life. Thank you.
We are Michelle Rossi and Donald Rossi and are the principles of Lower Bucks Kitten & Cat Rescue Organization. The following is information about our organization.
Lower Bucks Kitten & Cat Rescue Organization is a non-profit organization operating under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
We are a no-kill organization.
Lower Bucks Kitten & Cat Rescue Organization has been in existence since December of 2003, however we have been caring for neglected, abused and unwanted kittens and cats for the last 8 years and have experienced heartbreaks as well as heartwarming situations.
Our goals are simple; we take the kittens and cats that are neglected, unwanted and abused and give them the love, medical care, home environment and attention that they need until such time as they are adopted. If they are not adopted, then the answer is an easy one, the kittens or cats stay with our family for as long as they live.
None of our kittens or cats are kept in cages. They are free to roam our home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, enjoying their lives to the fullest in a community type environment.
Our procedure for taking in a kitten
or cat is very explicit and never deviated from, for various medical reasons. Every kitten or cat that enters our home is immediately
quarantined until tested for feline leukemia and FIV. When
the veterinarian advises that the kitten or cat is negative, then the kitten or cat is
sent into the community to make friends and socialize. We
then start the daily routine of working with the kitten or cat so that within a week, we
know the total personality of that kitten or cat. We
strive to find a new family for each one. In the
meantime, they are a part of our family. Being with
our kittens and cats 24/7 has it advantages. That
way we would know immediately if one of them became sick or hurt or even in need of some
additional love.
Our adoption process is also easy to understand and has been created so that the person adopting the kitten or cat knows exactly what Lower Bucks Kitten & Cat Rescue Organization expects of them up front. After the person chooses the kitten or cat they wish to adopt, they fill out an Application for Adoption, which asks for and must contain veterinarian references. If the person is a first time pet owner, then character references must be provided. We then check out the references and a decision is made. If the adoption is approved, then an Agreement for Adoption is presented and reviewed by the person adopting the kitten or cat and if they agree to the contents of the Agreement for Adoption, then it is signed by both the person adopting the kitten or cat and by the representatives of Lower Bucks Kitten & Cat Rescue Organization. The Agreement for Adoption specifically states that a representative of the Organization will be checking up on the kitten or cat for the first 6 months and if the kitten or cat is not already spayed or neutered, then said procedure must be done within 30 days for a cat or if a kitten, when it is 6 months old. Proof of the spaying or neutering must be presented to the Organization. This helps to keep the kitten and cat population down.
Our kittens and cats range in age from 6 weeks to 13 years of age. We invite you to view the kittens and cats that we have for adoption and if you have any questions, please give us a call.
Thank you for stopping by our website.
We need your help!
Lower Bucks Kitten &Cat Rescue Organization is desperately looking for people to foster some of the kittens and cats. If you love cats as much as we do, please give us a call at 814-857-7624. Even if you can only take 1 kitten or cat at a time, that would certainly help our Organization immensely.
Lower Buck Kittens & Cat Rescue Organization is also looking for volunteers to help out with adoptions, grant applications, caring for the needs of the kittens/cats up for adoption on a day to day basis, taking adoption applications and to help clean the kitten/cat play areas on a daily basis and to just spend time with the kittens and cats to help socialize them by giving them love, affection and attention. We are also in need for volunteers to help with fundraising activities, mailings etc.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in donating a little bit of your spare time to do, please contact us at 814-857-7624. Thank you.
