Love is a Four-Legged Word

WHO WE ARE

The Animal Coalition of Delaware County is a 501 (c) (3), non-profit, all-volunteer charitable organization registered with the Pennsylvania Department of State that is dedicated to finding loving homes for adoptable, homeless pets. We are also focused on educating the public regarding the necessity of spaying and neutering pets and encouraging the humane treatment of companion animals throughout Delaware County and the Main Line.

Our hardworking group is all-volunteer and all-foster, which means that the dogs, cats and rabbits in our care reside in the safe haven of a foster home until they are adopted, versus a cage like at a traditional shelter. We get to know our foster pets very well so that we can match potential adopters and pets during our screening and interviewing process prior to adoption. Being all-volunteer also means that we have very little overhead, so the donations we collect go directly towards providing veterinary care and adoption promotion for our pets.

The Animal Coalition makes sure that each pet in our care has been examined by a veterinarian, received any necessary vaccinations or tests and is spayed or neutered (if old enough) prior to adoption.

We are not affiliated with any local, state or federal agency or any other SPCA or humane group. Our work is supported entirely by the generosity of the general public and the group members. Your donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We ask that you be patient with us in responding to your emails, calls and faxes. We are an all-volunteer group and do what we do because we love animals. We also have full time jobs and families and many of us have foster pets in addition to our own so we do our best to respond as quickly as possible. To learn more about us, click on our home page ANIMAL COALITION OF DELAWARE COUNTY or you can email me at JPBoyle85@aol.com

  • INTERESTED IN FOSTERING A CAT OR A DOG? Our most important resources are the loving foster parents who care for and look after our cats and dogs while they are waiting to be placed in their permanent forever homes. We pay for the Vet care so all you need to supply is a lot of TLC and the food. If you think that you would like to be a foster parent, we welcome and appreciate your support. - Click on ANIMAL COALITION . If you can't foster, consider making a donation. The animals will love you for it!

Belle says, "THANK YOU FOR CARING!"

    ADOPTING YOUR BEST FRIEND

The Animal Coalition of Delaware County wants to be sure that our foster animals find good, loving and permanent homes. Naturally we have requirements that all prospective "parents" must meet:
    1. A driver's license or some form of photo identification with your current address.
    2. If you live in an apartment or rental property, we will need to see a copy of your lease or a letter from your landlord stating that you are allowed to have pets.
    3. If you own your home, we will ask that you provide proof of ownership such as a deed, tax bill or mortgage coupon book.
    4. To assist us in the process, please complete an adoption application and either fax or mail it to us. The applications, address and fax number can be found on our home page ANIMAL COALITION OF DELAWARE COUNTY.

Once you are a happy "parent", we may follow up with you on a regular basis, either by phone, email or home visitation to see that your new "child" is doing well and happy in his/her new home!
