Our Featured Pet is MR. B

MR. B or also known as BRONKO is a smart, nice dog who loves to play! He is young, probably around 2-3 years old, and he knows his commands, he can sit and stay, and he's housebroken, since he has not had one single accident in his kennel and he can't wait until he gets outside to do his business. He is one super, sweet dog. Extremely sweet and oh so, so lovable. He is a very strong dog (85 lbs), almost as strong as a bucking bronco , that's how he got his name (he even has the same colorization of a pony). It would be best if he had a fenced in yard since he loves to run and play and than just lounge in the grass and soak up the sun, he also loves to bury his bones in different spots around his yard. He has a big fenced in yard that he hangs in which is about 1/2 acre big which he has access to thru a doggy door. He has some scars on his head, ear and leg from being attached by another dog but he gets along fine with females dogs . This boy is a Lover not a fighter. Please give this guy a chance, you will fall in love with him the way I did. If interested in our sweet MR. B, Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply! Remember - Adoption is always the best option! Who We Are

MYKYS FRIENDS is named for a little dog, part Corgi, part Pomeranian (pictured on the top of this page) who was a big dog in a little body. He loved everything and everyone. His favorate past time was chasing butterflies and greeting people who came to visit. MYKY would sit in his big people chair on the front porch and as soon as someone would drive up, he would run to their car door and escort them to the house. His body died at the age of 14 from liver cancer but his spirit will be around for as long as we can remember him.
MYKY was a rescued dog that was found running around the mean streets of Philadelphia and when my car door opened, he just jumped in, happy to be safe.
All the animals listed here are MYKYS FRIENDS, dog or cat, who want to find a safe home away from the dangers of the streets. They are either fostered or still in a kill shelter waiting for someone to open a door for them.

Adopting a friend

The overpopulation of unwanted animals is the motivation behind this web site. These wonderful animals that die in the pounds & shelters every day at some point belonged to someone. Most of them enter the pound as strays, but seem housebroken, child friendly, even know basic commands. But they are put to sleep needlessly…. Please rescue a shelter animal, you would be amazed at the happiness a rescue animal can bring into your life not to mention what you bring to theirs. Their gratitude can simply be overwhelming. We urge anyone who is considering adopting a pet to:
Really think about the things they want and need in a pet that fits their family lifestyle.
Get to know your breeds! Even if you are going to adopt a mixed breed, look into what it's primary breed needs in a home, environment and exercise. Research the internet, you'll find lots and lots of information.
Make sure all members of your family truly want the animal in the home.
All animals are adopted by application. Priority will always be given to those adopting multiple pets.THERE ARE NO SAME DAY ADOPTIONS. The average waiting time is 2 days. In the day or two that it takes us to check your references, you will have time to think about and reflect on the gigantic life-altering decision of adopting a pet. We are interested in making the right connection between a pet and a prospective adopter, and in making sure that the match is a good one, taking into consideration the personality of the animal, as well as the various components of the lifestyle of the prospective adopter.
Remember to have your animal Spayed (female) or Neutered (male). Below are a list of low-cost spay/neuter programs (local and national): 1. The Spayed Club: 610-275-7486 2. Friends of Animals: 1-800-321-7387 3. SNAP: 410-885-5783 or 302-838-6996 4. SPAY USA: 1-800-248-SPAY Shop Cruelty-free! Only buy products that are not tested on animals. Please contact PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) 757-622-7382 or email: info@PETA.org for a free pocket guide.

We only have a few foster animals at this time but our primary goal is to take animals out of kill shelters and place them in foster care until they can be placed with a loving family. We also help other shelters and rescue groups by postings some of their animals on this site. In that case, we will mention where the animal is and how you can apply to adopt that animal.
