Who We Are
Make Peace With Animals is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to finding peaceful solutions to the many problems facing animals. One way we express this is by finding homes for former racing Greyhounds. Since we do not have a kennel, all of our pets are either in foster homes or at a costly boarding kennel.
Adopting a friend
Adopting a pet is a very serious commitment. Anyone considering adopting from Make Peace With Animals should download the application at www.makepeacewithanimals.org. We try very hard to match the right dog with the right family. We will only adopt a dog within a 3 hour driving radius of New Hope, PA. When sending in your application to adopt a retired racing greyhound, you should include a check for $15.00, we will then send you a copy of "Adopting the Racing Greyhound" by Cynthia Branigan. You should read the book before our volunteer calls for a phone interview. We can then schedule you for a home visit. Our basic adoption fee is $275. Send $15. with your application and we will send you the book. The balance due at the time of adoption will be $260. For senior dogs 7-9 years of age, the total fee is $150. (send $15. for the book, and the balance due at adoption will be $135. A dog that is over 10 years old or a special needs dog, the price is negotiable.
