Who We Are
We are a non-profit (501(c)3 designation pending) animal rescue organization located in Franklin, Pennsylvania. Precious Paws is dedicated to educating the public about proper pet care and placing adoptable animals in forever homes. We always need foster homes and volunteers for a variety of activities: adoption counseling, fundraising, post adoption follow-up, etc. We are in the process of getting our Pennsylvania kennel license; until then, we are limited in the number of dogs we can take into our program. We do offer an OWNER REFERRAL service to match individuals seeking to rehome their pets with new owners.

. Adopters must complete an adoption applicaton which includes veterinary and reference checks and a home visit as well as pay an adoption fee. All of our animals are neutered before adoption (NO EXCEPTIONS), given basic viral vaccinations, dewormed, and tested for infectious diseases. We do not euthanize animals unless the animal is seriously ill or aggressive. If euthanasia is required, we use sodium pentobarbital injections. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to adopt animals out of our area--we operate in a 100 mile radius, except in special instances as noted on the individual animal.
We Do Not Have a Facility
We do not have a shelter facility at this time, but are in the process of getting a Pennsylvania kennel license so that we can place more than 25 dogs per year. All of the animals seen on our website are in foster homes or still in the home of their owner seeking to place them (owner referral animals are not Precious Paws animals). If you would like to learn more about one of the animals available for adoption, please contact us to arrange a visit at your home or the foster home.
