We wish all our adopters blessings of joy and peace this coming year. Thank you for your continued support and caring.
Please understand we do not ship or transport our dogs so an adopter must pick up. Consequently we limit our adoption area to the Northeast and mid-Atlantic areas.
Who We Are
Twin Tiers Rescue is a small rescue group helping displaced small dogs (our focus being Pomeranians) find new, loving homes. All dogs receive necessary veterinary care, including vaccinations* and spay or neuter. *Note: TTR is opposed to overvaccination. Adult dogs only require rabies, per state law mandates. All dogs are kept in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted into a permanent home. Foster homes are a vital part of our rescue as some of these dogs have never known love or kindness. Fostering allows them to learn how to trust and live indoors in a family environment. We are always in desperate need of foster homes. If interested in applying to become a foster, please email us.
Adopting a friend
Prospective adopters are required to fill out an adoption application (request via email). If inquiring about a particular dog, please put its name in the subject line. We cannot consider applications submitted by anyone under age 21 and rarely consider homes with children under school age. We place our dogs in the best suited home, not first come first serve, although try to follow order as much as possible. A home visit is done and if it is a good match, a dog is placed following the family signing an adoption agreement to keep the dog indoors, maintain his/her vaccinations and provide a good, loving home, etc.
Our representatives appreciate updates and maintain contact to help deal with any questions or problems that may arise. Know that 100% of our adoption fee goes toward the vetting of rescues - we are all volunteers striving to make a difference in the lives of dogs. All dogs go to their adoptive home with a new collar, rescue tag and a toy or two. Note that we do not use extreme temperament tests on our dogs that invite failure but rather interact with them as a loving family would and view how they react under normal day to day circumstances. We strive to give our adopters a true view of the dog they are adopting.
Patience is required on the part of the applicant
We are comprised of all volunteers who have very busy lives. Please do not apply if you are looking to get a new dog instantly, for it will take time to clear your application and find someone to do the home visit. These are necessary steps to help insure we are placing our dogs into well matched homes.
Come Visit Us!
We are not a shelter than can be visited, as the dogs are in foster homes. Please contact us by email or fill in an online application if you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, fostering or donating. Please keep in mind that we may get quite a few applications. If we don't contact you, it might have slipped through the cracks while receiving so many emails and pleas for help. Email us again to make sure we received your request.
