Meet Gordon BrownDog!

Street Tails Animal Rescue is proud to introduce Gordon BrownDog to our family. This 4 year old red-nose pitbull was a cruelty case, who was found in a bathtub of someone's home. Gordon has severely luxated patellas in his left and right hind limbs. As a result of years of neglect, he has learned to walk with his stifles (knees) completely flexed.

His Current Care

He is currently being rehabilitated at V-CREST (Veterinary Canine Rehabilitation, Exercise and Sports Therapy) with the ultimate goal of undergoing surgical correction. He is beginning to learn to carry more weight on his lower body as we work on increasing the muscle mass in those limbs. We are also working on gradually stretching the ligaments that attach to the patellas. As a result of the abnormalities in his hind limbs, he is forced to carry a massive load on his front end. His entire body is being addressed during his rehabilitation sessions. It is only through Gordon's hard work and positive attitude during his sessions that he is able to progress each week.

About Gordon

Gordon BrownDog is the prime example of how powerful and forgiving an animal really is. Even after all he has been through, he has still managed to keep his spirit strong. Upon meeting him, Gordon's smile will instantly melt your heart. Please check with us at anytime for updates and, if you'd like, stop by The Chic Petique to meet Gordon and show your support for his recovery!

Home For Gordon?

Once Gordon receives a clean bill of health, he will be ready for his forever home! Until then, he will continue to be loved and cared for by his Street Tails family :)

Who We Are

Our rescue, Street Tails Animal Rescue (STAR) has been incorporated and is in the process of obtaining its 501(c)(3) status as a nonprofit organization. The mission of our group is to help the homeless, the unwanted, and the special needs animals of the area by helping them receive medical attention, educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering, and by placing these animals in appropriate, compatible, loving homes.

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER FACILITY AND CANNOT ACCEPT SURRENDERS.
ALL OF OUR ANIMALS ARE IN FOSTER HOMES.

Adopting a friend

Fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION (PDF) and email it to us, or print it out and mail it, or better yet, drop off the application in person. We ask that the questions be filled out thoroughly and honestly. Street Tails requires a vet check (if possible), details on where the animal will be living, and also a visit, on site, and we need to know if the animal will be placed along with other pets. We kindly ask for an adoption donation of $200-350 which covers all of the animal's medical, boarding and food costs while they live with us. All pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption, are up to date on all shots, and heartworm/lyme/erlichia tested.

Please Email Us!

Please email us if you are interested in adopting one of our k-9 kids or kitties. Be sure to include your fax number or address so we could send you an application. Once the application is approved, we will put you in contact with the dog's foster parent to set up a meeting time.
