Who We Are
Animal Keepers Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill shelter for cats. When they are first brought in, the cats are taken to the vet for a checkup and are tested for Feline Leukemia. All cats 6 months and older are spayed/neutered, given their vaccinations, and wormed. Young kittens are given their first vaccinations and are wormed.
Feline Leukemia positive cats are not put to sleep. We have found that with these cats, when they are given good cat food and vitamins, they can fight the Feline Leukemia virus and live a happy life. We have retested some of these cats after 6 months and they show up Feline Leukemia negative.
All cats are given a hooded litter pan in a carpeted cage.
Adopting a friend
When adopting one of our cats/kittens, you will receive a contract. We have several guidelines that we hope that you would follow: all cats must be kept indoors. Kittens adopted out before the age of 6 months must be neutered or spayed by the time they reach 6 months of age. We do not permit declawing of our cats. You can check out more of the guidelines on our website: www.animalkeepersrescue.org
There is a $65 adoption fee for kittens and $80.00 for adults. Each adoption fee is list on Petfinder with the cat's information.
We will be at Muddy Paws Pet Supply on Main St, Mt Pleasant (beside National City) Sat May 9th between 10am - 3pm with cats and kittens looking for forever homes. During this event, get a FREE limited edition spay/neuter framed print with any $15.00 purchase.
