C.A.R.E.S. no longer maintains a shelter and we do NOT have visiting hours or hours of operation since all of our pets are in private foster home located throughout PA. . OUR current pets listed for adoption are located at Petsmart on route 30 in Lancaster. We are a small rescue that only has foster homes.At this time we are unable to take in any dogs. Foster homes are limited and if will take some time before we can get a pet into a home

CARES is not accepting in ANY animals at this time. We are taking name and are willing to place you on a list when a foster home comes open..

Foster homes are needed for dogs and adult cats and kittens.

We Are Now showing Our Cats At Petsmart

We are now showing our cats at the Petsmart on Route 30. Look for us there next to target. contact for Petsmart store is 717-393-0820. This is the number for Petsmart, please only call this for directions to the store not for inquires. Our number is at the bottom of this page. Store location is 2405 Covered Bridge Dr. East Lancaster Pa. 17602 NW Corner of Bowman Rd-Route 30
Hours for adoptions are:
Monday 10:30-1, Tue 10-1, Wen. 10-11am Thur. 10-11pm ,Friday. 6:00-8:00, Sat 10:00 am-1:00 pm. No Sunday adoption hours.
No adoption are done on any holiday. Please do not forget to bring a crate or you will need to purchase one if you adopt.Also proof of homeownership/rental lease and your vets name and number.

ADOPTIONS AND SURRENDERS:
Adoptions are to an approved homes only. At this time we are only able to help CATS. Surrendering a pet to the rescue is based on room available and they must past a temperment test, And a required donations is requested to help care for the pet until they are adopted.
DONATIONS
Also cash donation are very much needed to help support the shelters needs. You can donate through Paypal. You do not need a Paypal account they accept credit cards. At this time we are also looking at buying some land. But in order to do so we are in need of donations. We are looking at getting a small farm with a barn/building, land, and a house. So that we can take in dogs and horses again as well as cats and other friendly critters.

DONATIONS:
As Always with non-profit shelter all monatary donations are needed and are Tax deductable. These can be mailed to us at 7 Sunflower Drive Ephrata Pa.17522 This is not the location of a shelter, mailing address only!! Who We Are

Statement: Companion Animal Rescue Elite Services is a non-profit organization that's goal is to rescue stray, abandoned or unwanted companion animals. We do not take in the sick or injuried pets.

We are a small non-profit animal rescue. Our services are offered to all of Lancaster County. Our priority is in finding homes for companion animals in need.

We do not work with WILDLIFE, INJUIRED, FERRAL(wild), SICK or aggressive animals. We are staffed by volunteers only.

Please Note: All pets that come into CARES are screened, We do not always have room to take in pets because the room is not available. If you find a stray try placing an ad in the paper to locate owner or a new owner for the stray.
Adopting a friend

We have an application to be filled out before any new adoptions can be completed when visiting with the pet. We also have an adopton fee and contract for every animal that is adopted. These forms are only filled out prior to adoption, we do not mail or email them prior to adoptions. Information required is, vet refrences, landlord name and number or proof of ownership of home. Copy of taxes or morgage payment accepted. We are a small group of volunteers and it may take some time to get back to everyone. Are adoption fees are, Cats / Kittens -$75 this includes a spay/neuter deposit. Dogs / Puppies-$250 These are non-refundable adoption fee which go towards the care of the adopted pet and future pets coming into our shelter. We dont guarantee the health of any pet adopted.
