One of the best kept secrets in the world is how greyt the companionship
of a greyhound is to people. Well, if you think that secret has been well kept, adopt a broodie and know what love is all about. Imagine that sweet little lady that raced, had puppies and lived in a crate at a farm her whole life. She is now 8, 9, 10 or maybe 11 years old and she comes into your life and into your home and has a soft bed and good food to eat. You might buy a nice soft toy for her to play with; oh yes - they are still very playful, and have a lot of living to catch up with. She will have a gentle hand to pet her and kind eyes to look at her as a companion and not something for making money. She will hear you tell her how pretty she is. The love that she gives to you will last you a lifetime.
Please allow one of these broodies to caress your heart. Call or e-mail
Linda at JLAGREYS@webtv.net or 610-264-8111to find out about adopting one or more of these sweethearts.

We need some people that can do M&G's. If you can donate as little as 3 hours anytime in a month, then this would be a big help in finding greyhounds new homes. The greyhounds can't leave the track & tell people what wonderful house companions they make. They are counting on us to help them. Won't you please help us to help them to a new life with a family. If you are interested in learning how or know of a good place in your area to hold a M&G, please contact Linda at

Brood Mamas, Seniors, and Special Needs. Have you ever considered adopting a Brood Mama, Senior, or Special Needs hound? Please contact Linda if this is something you would like to learn about. These special hounds have so much love to offer and deserve to have a home and family to love. Some are retired brood matrons and some need to be rehomed due to no fault of their own. A special program has been set up for people who would like to open their hearts and homes to these very special hounds. As Linda always says, "These hounds are so sweet that when you give them a kiss you'll come away with a cavity". Please think about adopting one of these very special greythounds!
Greyhound Educational Opportunity ? Have Linda visit your child?s school to educate and aid in promoting greyhound adoption. For the elementary children, Linda will read a greyhound book and talk to them about greyhounds. A greyhound book can be donated to the school?s library. And, for the Middle School & High School students, a project could be done involving retired racing greyhounds or greyhounds as pets. Please contact Linda via
email if you would like your school to be involved.
Please see our separate Fund Raisers heading below for the latest in items you can buy to spoil your hounds! All proceeds help us to help more hounds. Thanks for your support!
Who We Are
Linda Ann's Greyhound Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 registered rescue group devoted to the welfare of retired racing greyhounds. Our home base is in Whitehall (outside of Allentown), Pennsylvania which is about two hours north of Philadelphia. We serve the needs for greyhounds in and around the Lehigh Valley area and will also go outside the area if the need arises.
Each of our greyhounds is first placed in a foster home where they learn how to adapt to living in a home. We will find the best homes for as many of this very deserving breed of dog as possible. We will provide as much support and education as you want and need before, during and after the adoption. We want this to be a smooth transition for both the greyhound and of course your family.
We hope you will share your happiness with your greyhound with your friends, family and neighbors. Hopefully their interest in adoption will allow us to save more greyhounds from the track before they are destroyed.
Allow a greyhound to caress your heart.
Adopting a friend
We will make every effort to match the perfect hound for your family. Prior to adoption, potential adopters are required to complete an application which includes veterinarian and personal references and a home check. You can either print our on-line application or
email us to have an application mailed to you. Our adoption fee is $250. This includes:
spaying or neutering
teeth cleaning
basic shots
heartworm testing
transportation
a Martingale collar
a leash
a book on greyhounds
We also offer a $50 discount if you adopt two greyhounds at the same time.
Something to Think About??.
Have you ever thought about the brood matrons that spend the majority of their lives on a farm raising puppies? When they are retired, they need a special home. They deserve to live their final years on a nice warm couch with a loving family. Brood matrons are the sweetest old gals around and are so appreciative to any and all attention that is offered.
If you are truly interested in possibly providing a safe loving home to one of these deserving hounds, please contact Linda Ann via email . A special home is needed for these special gals.

Come Visit Us!
We have Meet & Greets almost every weekend at various locations in the Lehigh Valley area. Come meet the adoptable dogs and talk to greyhound owners who are there with their own dogs.
Please remember, when bringing your greyhounds to M & Gs, we are the guests of the establishment that we are visiting. We want to be welcomed back so we can continue to talk to people about greyhounds. In order to do this we must be respectful of the establishment, their property (including animals) and their customers. Please continue to help us help the greyhounds that still need homes by following the above.
