WHO WE ARE

P.A.W.S. is a non-profit adoption service designed to help find homes for animals in need either medically or otherwise. These animals come to us as strays, orphans and sadly, sometimes as unwanted pets. Any animal over 6 months old is automatically neutered if it has not already been done, before it is placed for adoption. All required vaccines are brought up to date. All animals in the P.A.W.S. program are kept until they find homes. Animals with known temperment problems are not placed in the P.A.W.S. program.

ADOPTING A FRIEND

Contact Adele to arrange a meeting with any of the pets listed for adoption. She can be reached at 215-536-6245 between 9 AM and 9 PM on weekdays. There are no specific shelter hours, adoptions are by appointment only. Adoption fees are $100 for dogs an puppies, and $50 for cats and kittens. Included in the adoption fee is all vaccinations required. A standard legal contract of adoption will be completed at the time of adoption. Any animal adopted from the shelter that cannot be kept for any reason must be returned to the shelter.
In some cases we assist pet owners who are adopting out their pet directly from their home by listing the pet for them on our pet list web page. In such cases the animals description will indicate that the pet is being adopted directly from it's present owner. In those cases you will deal directly with the pet's owner. Contact information for these adopt from owner pets will be included in their description. In cases of direct adoptions from an owner, the terms of adoption will be dictated by the owner not P.A.W.S.

VOLUNTEERING AND DONATIONS

Although many of the staff and doctors at QVC donate their time and expertise to the sick and injured animals, the medications and supplies to treat these animals can be costly. P.A.W.S. is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers. Funds must be raised to cover expenses in order for P.A.W.S to continue to operate. Donations are accepted and greatly appreciated from clinic clients and the general public. We periodically hold fundraising activities. The minimal adoption fees also help to cover these expenses. Won't you consider sending us a small donation, even a dollar? Every dollar helps, and every dollar goes toward care for the animals.

OUR LOCATION

P.A.W.S. is hosted by the Quakertown Veterinary Clinic, P.C. Please call or E-mail before stopping by to meet an animal. Because we are a rescue not a shelter, many of our animals are in foster homes and prior arangement is needed to get them here for a meeting.
Directions from RT 309 north or south: At the north end of Quakertown, turn left when northbound on RT 309 or right when southbound on RT 309 onto RT 663 (this is the road between McDonalds & Wendy's). Pass through 1 traffic light at the entrance to the shopping center and then bear right at the next road located just before the gas station, onto Old Bethlehem Pike. Proceed north on Old Bethlehem Pike for approximately 1 mile and the QV Clinic is on your left across from a large pond.
