Who We Are
Last Chance Ranch is a non-profit, all volunteer Equine Rescue located in Southeast Pennsylvania. LCR rescues the old, young, injured, neglected, malnourished, abused, and forgotten. We accept all breeds: horses, ponies, drafts, donkeys & mules. We make every effort to rehabilitate these unfortunate animals and place them in carefully screened custodial homes.
Neglect, suffering, and death often occur through ignorance rather than intentional cruely. One of our goals is to provide the new or potential horse owner the proper education for basic horse care.
LCR has saved many horses from slaughter. Some have needed special care, veterinary help, basic TLC, rehabilitation, or, sometimes just time to heal. LCR provides vet care, farrier care, nourishing foods, rest and most importantly, lots of love. Our horses have gone on to new ways of life that include riding, driving, showing, therapy, and overall companions to all.

Last Chance Ranch has decided to join the ranks of small animal rescue and save at least a few of these "kill shelter" pets from such an undignified ending to their lives.
With the acquisition of an additional 25 acres, LCR plans to build a 10 run kennel to house pets that are awaiting their forever families. This will also allow Last Chance Ranch to house small animals in emergency or humane seizure situations.

Adopting a friend
There are always many animals here at LCR that would love to find a human who would provide them with the love, attention, and proper care that they deserve. The decision to care for a pet is a serious one, not to be made without careful consideration. It is especially important in the case of Equine placement because the expenses incurred can be very great. Because of this, we have a thorough screening process for potential caregivers. The director of LCR, Lori McCutcheon-Benetz, will help you through the application process. First-time horse owners are encouraged to investigate the possibility of caring for a friend from LCR. The volunteers at "the Ranch" will help instruct a new horseowner on the basics of horse care. Please email pets@lastchanceranch.org for more details on how to adopt an Equine.

Directions from Points North: Take Rt309S to Rt 313 (Broad St) in Quakertown. Turn left onto 313, drive through downtown Quakertown, cross RR tracks and continue on 313 to RT 212. Turn left on 212. Follow 212 into Richlandtown. 212 will veer off to the right at the white church. Continue on 212 about 1/16 of a mile. Take the first right onto Meadow Rd. Follow Meadow Rd. until it ends at Beck Rd. Turn left, immediatley turn Rt. into LCR driveway.
From Points South: Take Rt309 North until the intersection of RT 313. Turn right onto 313. From this point, follow directions from above. PLEASE call or email for an appointment. We are an all volunteer rescue and want to be sure all of your questions are answered and your needs met while you are here. The best way to do that is to be prepared for your arrival.
