Nanuk is a happy, friendly older gentleman. His coat is in poor shape due to his Cushings disease and he drinks a lot of water because of it. In spite of this, Nanuk is expected to have a long and full life with the right home. Please see our adoptable pets page for more information on Nanuk and other Keeshond in foster care.

Who We Are
Northwest Keeshond Rescue is a non-profit organization consisting of a select group of foster homes who take in unwanted or homeless Keeshonden from individuals and shelters until an ideal home can be found. We are all volunteers whose purpose is to benefit and promote the Keeshonden breed.
Adopting a friend
Northwest Keeshond Rescue believes that adopting a Keeshond is a very special event. We try to match up the best homes to the best dogs. All dogs are fostered in a home situation, so we are better able to match up homes and dogs appropriately. We welcome you to schedule a time to meet one of our available Keeshonden or to contact us with any questions about this breed. You must be willing to come to the home where the dog is being fostered or another close by place where the dog will be comfortable for the first meeting. We only adopt to homes within driving distance of the Portland metro area.
Adoption fees are $250-$300 and an application and adoption contract are required. All Kees are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and have begun basic obedience training. Only under very special circumstances would a Keeshond be adopted to a home who has not met that Keeshond at least twice, so you must be within driving distance of the Portland area to apply. A home check and references are also required.
