For those wishing to rehome their dogs through NWVRA - have you checked with the breeder of your dog? You might be surprised at how many Vizsla breeders will take their dogs back at any point during their lifetime. When the breeder cannot help, please let us know. We would like to come meet the dog and assess it for rehomeability before making a decision to bring the dog into our program. We do ask that you bring your dog current on all shots and spay/neuter if not already done so. If you cannot provide this service, we would ask you to contribute financially so your dog can be readied for adoption.
For those wishing to add a Vizsla to your family, there are a few things you can do to make sure this is a suitable breed for you. Please do your research and visit with different Vizsla owners in your area. If you need to know who might be close to you, let us know. You can also visit with owners at dogparks and dog shows. If you're sure this is the breed for you, please take a look at our dogs at Adoptable page.
News
If you are looking for a charitable organization to donate to, please consider Northwest Vizsla Rescue Alliance, Inc. It's through the generous donations you give us that allows us to rehome Vizslas in Oregon and Washington and provide them with the necessary medical attention they need. We are a non-profit charity and rely on our adoption fees and the generosity of our supporters. Please see our website, www.nwvra.org, to make a donation through PayPal. Needy Vizslas appreciate your generosity and so do we! If you would like to become a foster home, please let us know. If you can't foster, please consider helping with transportation or identifying a Vizsla in a shelter.
Who We Are
We are a very small group of Vizsla owners who for several years have been committed to rehoming needy Vizslas in Washington and Oregon. Some of us have been in the breed for more than thirty years while others are newcomers by comparison. All of us have the desire to see adoptable Vizslas placed in new, forever homes. Northwest Vizsla Rescue Alliance, Inc, was formed to operate separately from but in cooperation with both local Vizsla clubs. We are a 501(c)(3) Charity organization with the sole purpose of rehoming purebred Vizslas. We are not a club and have no membership.
We are a 501(c) (3) Charity and contributions are deductible under section 170 of the code. Exempt status began May 29, 2007
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in adopting one of our available rescues, please go to our website at www.nwvra.org and click on Adoption Application. We will review your application and contact you if we have any questions. We will then proceed to match you with who we think to be the best suited Vizsla for your family. We do require a home check which will need to be done before we can proceed with an adoption. We ask for a modest $150 adoption fee. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An adoption fee, application, and contract are required.
Come Visit Us!
We do not have any facilities in which to visit. All rescues will either be with the foster family or still living in its home with the owner.
