Finders Keepers
Animal Rescue & Training Facility
Finders Keepers is a Rescue/Foster facility whose mission is to rescue, re-hab, train, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected dogs. Whenever possible we also assist dogs who, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners.
Finders Keepers dogs are housed in either the main facility or in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention that may be required to insure that they are in good health before adoption. They are all spayed or neutered and brought up-to-date on shots before being placed in their new homes.
All dogs at Finders Keepers are evaluated for temperament and personality. We also work on basic obedience, house training and any behavior issues that a dog might have when accepted into Finders Keepers.

1. Owners are moving and cannot take their pet with them.
2. Owners have become incapacitated or died.
3. There is not enough time for the dog because of changes in their lifestyle, e.g., new baby, ill family member.
4. Other pets in the house do not get along with this one.
5. Owners realize they should never have gotten a pet and don't want to place the dog in a shelter.
Sometimes there are behavior modifications needed outside our facility. This could be with a dog you already own, a dog that was adopted thru us, or various other means. Sometimes all we need as humans is to understand why the dog is doing what he is doing and then we can work with that and show him the proper way to behave.
All training is done in home with owners doing hands on training. An initial evaluation takes place to analyze the current situation and what the owners would like adjusted/and the dogs too! From there we creat a workable training schedule to eradicate negative/unwanted behaviors and turn them into desired behaviors. Every situation is unique and there is no timetable to a finished dog, it's a group effort to reach the finish line.
Every dog is perfect, and with the right coaching, every owner can be too!
After you find a dog from our listings, review the description of the dog you are interested in to make sure that the dog fits with your particular needs and desires. Email your selection to us.
Once we have received your email of interest on a particular dog we will send you an adoption application. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the dog you have chosen is a good match for your home. When the application has been submitted you will receive an email/phone call letting you know if the dog would be a good match for you. At that point we will schedule a time for a meet & greet for you and your family members (including other dogs) have a chance to meet the dog and get a better idea of each other and how the dogs will interact with one another.
If, after meeting the dog you decide you would like to adopt him/her, you will be asked to complete an adoption contract. Please read the contract carefully to make sure that you understand what you will be agreeing to.
An adoption donation of $50-150.oo is requested for all dogs. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the dogs while at the facility.
All dogs at Finders Keepers are altered, current on shots, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. We are a non-profit organization and as such receive no monetary compensation for our work with the dogs.
