Visit us at 3550 Aumsville Hwy SE in Salem. Stray dogs that are not claimed by their owners are available for adoption on Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. We are actively seeking volunteers willing to assist with community outreach events, help walk, obedience train, bathe and/or play with the dogs at our shelter. Please contact Marion County Dog Shelter if you are interested in volunteering. See the Marion County website for more information on volunteering or to view an up-to-the-minute list of adoptable dogs.
Who We Are
Marion County Dog Control is a division of Marion County Public Works. We rescue stray, abandoned and injured dogs, license dogs, and investigate dog nuisance complaints within Marion County. We house and care for these dogs at our shelter and offer dogs for adoption through Marion County Dog Control.
