Jonesy came to North Meck Animal Rescue more than a year ago as a tiny tiny little pup. He was probably only a day or so from dying of starvation. Even in his weakened state he was a spunky little guy. The first thing he did was escape his crate... I should've seen it as a sign.
For some reason, as cute as he was, he didn't make it into a home while he was cute and adoptable. Then he went into his terrible "teen years". Oh he was a mess. Nipping at everything (not aggressively mind you), but with herding in mind. Jumping, pulling, tugging, scratching, boy were we worried...
and then we had a wonderful trainer come to the rescue. Jonesy is now a beautiful trained, handsome young adult. He can still be a bit rowdy at times, as he doesn't get nearly enough exercise at the rescue. However he knows and performs his commands well, has great recall and though he's not a great fan of other dogs and cats, he can be a good boy and ignore them totally when with his knowledgeable human.
So what does Jonesy need. A home that's looking for a well trained dog to work with. He loves attention and snuggles, but will work for you beautifully. AND A LOT OF EXERCISE. He is a brilliant boy and needs nothing less than a home that will challenge a dog with new training and skills.
If you are that home, please consider giving Jonesy the well deserved chance he has never gotten.
Jonesy is a little over a year, approx. 45 lbs (but could use a few, he's chubbed up), neutered, microchipped, utd on shots and heartworm preventative.
