![]() WHO WE ARE. . .
When a dog comes to MSR, they live with one of our wonderful volunteers in a loving "foster home," until the right people are found to adopt them. During their stay in foster care, the dog's behavior is assessed as well as its physical condition. The average age of dogs in our care is 3 - 7 years. Learn more... We are incorporated as a charitable organization. As such, we have no paid staff and rely 100% on the work of our volunteers. Miniature Schnauzer Rescue is not a shelter and we do not have a central location. Our rescue dogs are cared for in private foster homes throughout our service area, the Pacific Northwest. As a non-profit, all donations and adoption fees go toward the care of our dogs food, grooming and veterinary care including spay/neuter, vaccinations, dental cleaning and extractions. ADOPTING A FRIENDWe maintain a waiting list for adoptions, so please fill out our online application form. While we will place our dogs throughout Oregon and Washington, we do not ship our rescues. MSR's rescues are spayed or neutered, have dental done, if necessary, vaccinations, cyst removal, if necessary The Schnauzers are bathed and groomed before going to their new homes. ALTHOUGH WE THOROUGHLY EVALUATE OUR RESCUE DOGS, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE HEALTH OR TEMPERMENT. Please understand that we are an all-volunteer organization, and most of us have full-time jobs and family obligations in addition to the rescue work we do. We apologize if things seem to move slowly. COME VISIT US!Please visit our website at msrnorthwest.org.
