Please note: animals are added and are deleted at least once a week, so some showing on our list are no longer available. Our pet list doesn't always include all of the animals available - please visit the shelter or call if you don't see what you're looking for!

Applications for adoptions that are received by fax will be processed by 5pm on the day that they are received. Applications received after 5pm or on days that we are closed, will be processed the next day that Greenhill is open to the public.

Applications received via fax should be accompanied by a copy of the applicant’s drivers license.

The application will be reviewed, and a phone call will be made to the potential adoptive family.

If the application is approved, a hold may be placed on the animal pending a visit from the adoptive family (including other animals in the family). The hold will only be placed for 24 hours maximum.

Who We Are (Top)

Greenhill Humane Society's mission is to provide safe shelter for animals in transition, serve as advocates for animals and their people, work to end animal overpopulation and educate the public about compassion and responsibility towards all animals.

We strive to accomplish these goals through providing shelter for abandoned and unwanted animals, promoting awareness and education and organizing a variety of community outreach programs. Our programs include, but are not limited to: Shelter and Adoption Services; Education Programs; Domestic Violence Assistance Program; Senior Assistance Program; Foster Program.

Adopting a Friend (Top)

Shelter Hours are 11 AM - 6 PM, Friday thru Tuesday (adoptions stop 1 hour before closing).

We require an adoption application and approval for all adoptions; please note that we require landlord approval prior to adopting to anyone who rents. Adoption fees vary. Dog and cat adoptions include a deposit to be used towards the cost of spaying or neutering the pet, a collar and leash (for dogs), initial vaccinations, a microchip for I.D., and a certificate for a health check at a number of local veterinarians.

Volunteering (Top)

Volunteers are the essence of the Greenhill Humane Society. Without volunteers, we would never be able to provide the current level of programs and services to assist the animals and people of our community. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available! Please call 541-689-1503 and ask for our volunteer coordinator or email:
