No, you're not seeing things! Abbeycats now has puppies!
These Shepherd/Collie mix pups need homes! They are approx. 8 weeks old and need housetraining.
They are very friendly and love to play with everyone, even the cats in their foster home - mind you the cats are not crazy about playing with them. Almost all of the puppies are comfortable around children and have started potty training.

Meet Destiny!

When Destiny was rescued, everyone thought she was pregnant because her tummy was large. However, the "pregnancy" was really an enlarged kidney and she needed surgery to have it removed. In the 15 months since her operation, she has been in the best of health. She's a quiet, undemanding girl who doesn't move around a lot, but she loves to say "Hello" to company and to chat about her ideas with her foster parents. She gets along well with other cats, but really prefers humans who will brush her occasionally and tickle her behind the ears. Call now to meet her!

Who We Are

Abbey Cat Adoptions is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding permanent homes for abandoned cats and kittens. We work closely with foster homes and potential adopters to find a suitable match between families and their new pet.

Along with adoptive and foster parents we need other dedicated cat lovers to create a successful program. If you live in the GTA and have a few hours to spare each week we want to hear from you. We need drivers, digital photographers and people who can tackle computer and phone work. We have opportunities for a fund raising co-ordinator and anyone with marketing and media ideas and contacts.

We have lots of cats and kittens! In addition to the cats and kittens featured on this web site, you can see available cats and kittens at individual foster homes.

To visit a cat in a foster home, please call (416) 284-2140 and one of our adoption counsellors will help you set up an appointment. www.abbeycats.org

How to Adopt

We want to make sure that our rescued cats and kittens go to good, loving homes. So before we adopt out one of our animals, one of our adoption counsellors will do a short pre-adoption Sal interview to make sure that you and the cat are a good fit. To adopt, please call (416) 284-2140 and leave a detailed message with the name of the cat you are interested in adopting, along with details of your current pet owning situation and previous history. One of our adoption counsellors will return your call within 24 hours. Please leave a daytime and evening telephone number.

If you don't already have a cat, or other pets at home, consider adopting more than one kitten or cat. Kittens especially need company and adopting two together will mean they have someone to play with when you're not home.
